I'm just curious, which of the two do you prefer?

How would you pronounce Meredith? The Welsh way, or the English way?
MerEDith?
MERedith?

It's usually a boy's name in Wales.

Meredith - Aurelia sounds like the bits round nipples!

ScrambledEggAndToast · 31/01/2015 19:39

Meredith.

I was thinking that Moher Smile

They're the front runners for our baby girl, due in June. I say front runners, they're the only names we like in the 'would actually use and agree on' sense. My DH and I have very different tastes so I'm quite surprised that we've come to any agreement so early!

Use both, they go well together

Both lovely!

I'm terrible at writing pronunciations but I guess I say Aurelia as Oreelya. Three syllables. Which seems to work where I live in terms of what I have heard others say.

I am aware it is one of those names which has various pronunciations, none of them strictly the right/wrong one.

floatyflo · 31/01/2015 15:05

How is Aurelia promounced? I love Meredith btw!

PunkAssMoFo · 31/01/2015 15:04

Meredith. It's everything a name should be.

Don't like the "oral" sound of Aurelia.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 31/01/2015 14:52

Meredith - would have been a definite contender if we didn't have a similar-ish surname.

satsumasunrise · 31/01/2015 14:45

I prefer Meredith by far.

Lunastarfish · 31/01/2015 14:38

Aurelia - it's the most beautiful name in the whole world!

Sophronia · 31/01/2015 11:02

OydNeverDeclinesGin · 31/01/2015 10:58
