Help! Can't decide on boy's name and only 2 weeks to go...

Still trying to decide on a name for DS due in less than 2 weeks, by this time with DD we had a shortlist of about 3 (which we then threw out in favour of something completely different at the moment she was born!)

We are currently between addresses and totally disorganised and unprepared for his arrival in most other aspects so the name is one small thing (haha) I had hoped to have sorted by now! The longlist is... (both mine and DH's choices although we can't agree!)

Donovan
Cormac
Luther
Julian
Sebastian
Cassius
Aldous
Jefferson
Jude
Orson
Walter
Wilbur
Magnus

Middle names are going to be something solid + my slightly unusual maiden name and surname begins with B.

Suggestions / shortlists welcomed with open arms! Thanks

I love Quentin and Cormac.

What about Austin?

bienemaya · 04/02/2015 15:03

I like most of your suggestions, in particular Orson, Magnus, Quentin and Sebastian. Good strong underused classics. Good luck!!

Marchhairy · 03/02/2015 13:07

I like most of your list.
We had a similar sized list when DS was born. It was easy to decide once he was here. Only one of the names suited him. I've never regretted his name and it suits him perfectly.

Sophiesmummie · 03/02/2015 12:50

My favourites are Magnus, Quentin, Orson and Cassius. Great strong classics!

Don't really like Donovan, Wilbur or Jude (too girly sounding imo).

Lottiey19 · 03/02/2015 12:29

Hi,

We've just had a boy and had a hard job picking a boy's name. We also shortlisted Jude (so clearly we like that one). I also like Vincent and Sebastian and Orson from your list a lot. I don't too much care for Wilbur (Charlotte's Web pig) or Luther (as in Lex...). Um, Cassius killed Julius Caesar, Jefferson sounds a bit too American. The others are okay.

We went with Linden Jacob in the end after months of agonising.

albertcampionscat · 02/02/2015 19:23

Walt/Walter are due a comeback I reckon.

D0nnaO · 02/02/2015 18:54

Jude Smile also like Sebastian but Sebby for short

BlueStarsAtNight · 02/02/2015 15:20

I like Sebastian, Wilbur, Jude and Julian. Also quite like Vincent!

MarshaBrady · 02/02/2015 14:38

Magnus is my favourite

tammytoby · 02/02/2015 14:37

From your original list I like Sebastian (but not Seb), Orson and Magnus and I also love your latest suggestions, Quentin and Vincent. Great underused classics!

SnowWhite33 · 02/02/2015 14:29

Julian, Sebastian or Jude, very nice!

hrpufnstuf · 02/02/2015 14:21

I like Julian from your original list, but you then knocked that into a cocked hat with Vincent - a fab and unusual choice that would work equally well for a boy/man who is quiet and studious, or lively and artistic.

Unfortunately it is rubbish with our surname, so hopefully it will work better with yours Smile.

poppydaisy · 02/02/2015 14:08

Some great names - I like Sebastian, Magnus and Quentin the best!

rachel234 · 02/02/2015 12:08

I like most of your names, op. In particular Orson, Cassius and Quentin (we have one, so am slightly biased Smile).

shoobidoo · 02/02/2015 11:40

All great names but my favourites are Magnus and Quentin! Love them both.

Blahia · 31/01/2015 22:16

I like walter, wilbur and Magnus the best. Also like Cassius, but wouldn't have the guts to use it myself!

babiesbelikewhat · 31/01/2015 21:13

Thanks everyone, thought I was going to get flamed for some of those! Still awaiting his arrival and keep adding names to the list!

Any thoughts on...
Quentin
Vincent
(I may have watched Pulp Fiction last nightWink)

ourglass · 26/01/2015 10:32

I like Cassius.

You don't have decide now though. My second child wasn't named until she was about a week old.

Cliffdiver · 26/01/2015 06:47

I like Wilbur and Sebastian.

shoobidoo · 26/01/2015 06:39

Great list of names! Classic, cool and not overused. I like them all.

fizzycolagurlie · 26/01/2015 01:39

I don't know if you need a name before he is born, do you? I wish we'd waited to set eyes on our first DC before we'd stuck on a name, because I kept looking at his face in the weeks after he was born and the name didn't seem to fit, for the longest time. ...But it does now (though i still think he looks more like a William, than his actual name, for some reason).

MumsyFoxy · 26/01/2015 00:17

I only like Jude and Wilbur out of that list.
