Ok so we have a shortlist of names.
We are having two middle names and as baby's dad and I are not exactly together she will have a double barrelled last name but will be known by his last name.

Penelope Rachael Mary McCauley-Smith

Eloise Rachael Mary McCauley-Smith

Evelyn Rachael Mary McCauley-Smith

Luna Rachael Mary McCauley-Smith

Stella Rachael Mary McCauley-Smith

Lydia Rachael Mary McCauley-Smith

Charlotte Rachael Mary Smith

Eloise
lydia
Stella
Luna (obvs great)
Evelyn

I can't stand Penelope or Charlotte - sorry

Sophronia · 25/01/2015 18:13

I like Penelope Rachael Mary McCauley-Smith

NadiaWadia · 24/01/2015 19:29

But OP has explained why she can't really use Rachael as the first name.

loislines · 24/01/2015 19:22

Eloise, Lydia and Charlotte sound best, I think. Don't like Luna (too like lunatic for me...). I agree with previous poster that Rachael Mary would be lovely just like that without another forename, especially with the double-barreled surname.

NadiaWadia · 24/01/2015 18:57

So you dumped 'Noble'? Congratulations! I don't really like Penelope that much, and not sure about Luna, but all the rest are lovely names. I love Stella, but you might get people mentioning the lager a bit (Stella Artois?) so to stop this, you might consider using Estella instead? That might not stop those people though! But the name, obviously came first, the lager probably won't be around forever.

pleaseclosethedoor · 24/01/2015 18:56

I like Penelope best, with Penny as a nick name. I also think Charlotte, Evelyn and Lydia sound good.

wesH · 24/01/2015 18:52

Lydia, Evelyn and Charlotte sound best with your choice of middle names. Personally I like Evelyn the most. Im all in favour of the double barrel surname, but imo, if you're going to be raising and caring for this child, she should be "known" by your surname

Bowlersarm · 24/01/2015 18:51

I love Luna and Stella.

AprilShowers15 · 24/01/2015 18:50

It's my best friends name, that's why its a middle name.
She's my best friend but she's full of herself and would constantly talk about the fact I named my baby after her

Penelope is too long to then be followed by two middle names and two surnames I think. I have a double-barreled surname and I think the names you choose before them decide if it's too wordy/getting ridiculous or if it's just fine. So I'd say no to penelope. Weirdly even though I wouldn't choose the name personally, I think Luna goes the best with those names.

AnythingNotEverything · 24/01/2015 18:08

Why not Rachael? I like Rachael.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 24/01/2015 17:28

Eloise
Charlotte
Both good with double barrelled
Stella McC on its own (don't like Stella Smith)
Penelope Smith on its own (Penny McCauley too many ee sounds)

No commitment, no name in my world though

MaudeTheMopLady · 24/01/2015 17:15

Gorgeous names! Love your choices!
Like in following order:

Lydia
Penelope
Stella
Evelyn/Eloise
Luna
Charlotte

All sound fabulous though.

Congratulations

Mostlyjustaluker · 24/01/2015 17:14

That is a lot of long names for. Young child to learn to spell. They will never fit them on a page. I think you need to think of it in terms of how does the first and surname fit together as that if all you hear. I echo previous posters name in saying I would not give her the surname of a man I was not with.

Groovee · 24/01/2015 17:13

Lydia sounds the best to her full name followed by Charlotte?

What is your favourite.

squoosh · 24/01/2015 17:11

Well firstly and without meaning to be rude, if you and the child's father aren't together why will she known by his surname? If I was her I'd prefer to be known as McCauley-Smith than just dull old Smith.

As for the first names, in descending order of preference...............

Eloise
Evelyn
Lydia
Charlotte
Stella
Penelope
