Honest opinions on Rupert please. If you have one, please let me know your experiences.

I absolutely love it, I think it is traditional, handsome, soft but strong, known but not too unusual. BUT...I know it has connotations and I'd hate to give my son a name that will cause him problems down the track. What do you think?

I have a strong negative reaction when I see/hear the name Rupert despite never knowing one.

It's the ultimate posh toff name. It sounds insipid and limp lettuce-y. I could never fancy a Rupert.

I LOVE Rupert. It's been my boy name since forever but I have girl after girl! Beautiful, strong, smart but not too 'overheard in waitrose'.

I know a toddler Rupert whose parents aren't toffs/posh. It suits him

It's a PG Wodehouse style name to me. A bumbling toff who is unburdened by too many brain cells.
