Amoura? I really love it, but I think everyone will hate it, not that I am too fussed ( not even pregnant yet :) )

Do you mean Aurora, OP?
I think Amara is quite nice.

lunar1 · 19/01/2015 22:19

I'm going to have that bloody pizza pie song in my head all night now!!!

Jessicahyde85 · 19/01/2015 22:18

Did explain there is no baby, not anything to go for, and not a name I would actually pick, just a guilty pleasure :)

No, it's a nice name, go for it.

Jessicahyde85 · 19/01/2015 22:06

Oh yes yes yes yes

Koalafications · 19/01/2015 22:01

Oh no no no no no.

Bartlebee · 19/01/2015 22:00

Terrible.

Sophronia · 19/01/2015 21:57

How about Adora instead?

Jessicahyde85 · 19/01/2015 21:56

Did not last long? Neither did their clients I expect.......

I have always really loved aroura too, but not great at pronouncing my R's :(

Solasum · 19/01/2015 21:53

There used to be 'Amora - academy of sex and relationships' on Leicester Square. It did not last long though

iusedtobecool · 19/01/2015 21:51

Amara is pretty.

EdithWeston · 19/01/2015 21:51

I know an adult Amora, and because she's lovely I've always liked the name too.

Maura might be better known, and has a very similar sound.

Jessicahyde85 · 19/01/2015 21:49

I don't need to look for alternatives there is no baby..... I heard the name a few weeks ago and really liked it, that is all.

Jessicahyde85 · 19/01/2015 21:47

The word for love is amor, the femm name is amoura. So yeah I was correct everyone will hate it.....

According to a quick google it looks like an Arabic name that means beautiful or radiant or lovely.

I don't mind it (a bit feminine for my taste) but I do have a DD with a challenging name for most English speakers.

Hoppinggreen · 19/01/2015 21:39

It's neither a name or a random word.
I would look for alternatives

Clueing4looks · 19/01/2015 21:39

I know an Amira, very pretty name, but amoura sounds like an air freshener or something

mupperoon · 19/01/2015 21:38

X-posted!

mupperoon · 19/01/2015 21:38

And if you go with Amora - that's a brand of mustard. Hmmm.

Pippidoeswhatshewants · 19/01/2015 21:36

It's not a Spanish name for love that I know. Love is amor in Spanish.

mupperoon · 19/01/2015 21:36

But Spanish for love is amor. It's more like a tarted up French amour. Sounds American to me.

kelda · 19/01/2015 21:35

What about Amara?

Bluestocking · 19/01/2015 21:34

I think a Spanish name meaning love would be Amora, OP.
