Confessions - names you love but will never use

Just as title really. I have a theory that everyone has a baby name that they love but will never/ have never got to use. Mine is Silas, always adored it but DH (and almost everyone else in rl) hates it. My mum's is Toby, she's tried to get us to use it but we haven't obliged. Would anyone else care to share?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Aurora. I can't say my 'r's pwoperly so that one's out.
Cecily, vetoed by DH
Juniper. Everyone who knows me knows I like gin, so they might think I'd named my dd after that. I just love how it sounds, and looks.
Emmeline. Doesn't work with our surname. The abbreviations are a bit dull, too.

Theo, love the name, but don't like the meaning.
Can't think of any other boy names I love but can't have!

Ptolemy
Saskia
Persephone
Anastasia

Love these but I'm not posh enough to have used them.

Lilicat1013 · 16/01/2015 18:41

Fox - We as a family are not cool enough to carry that off, everyone would laugh and the child wouldn't thank me for it!

Eve - No girls

turdfairynomore · 16/01/2015 18:41

Angharad and Sebastian. Still love them even though it's 17 years since I last named a baby. They weren't -and probably still aren't - "very NI"!

Popalina · 16/01/2015 18:37

Good thread!

Aurora, Beatrice and Sky. All three went down like a lead balloon with DH.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 16/01/2015 18:37

Poppy.

Beautiful but wasn't convinced it would work on a high court judge.

(Names need to be suitable for 1. Cute little baby. 2. Teenager in a comprehensive. 3 A high court judge. For us to use them.)

MrsTawdry · 16/01/2015 18:36

Bunty. And also Tabitha. DH said NO to both. I really like Bunty and you'd never meet another!

Perdita was such a great character. Jilly books had characters with amazing names.

OwlBeGoing · 16/01/2015 18:32

When I watched The Sound Of Music as a teen I vowed to name my first born son George but pronounced gay-org Blush
Thankfully my pfb is a girl Grin

Humprey - love it but nns (Humph, Hum) never convinced me or DH.

softlysoftly · 16/01/2015 18:31
