Emilie-XXX ???

I will be having our baby girl in 5 weeks and we'd decided on her name, Emilie-Rose

However... I personally like Emilie-Paige better, but can't seem to win hubby round on that one Sad

So, I need ideas as to what would go with Emilie as a hyphenated name...? Smile

Well I like hyphenated names and think Emilie-Rose is lovely. I prefer Paige to Rose as a stand alone name but don't think it hyphenates well with Emilie. I think Emilie-Rae is cool and might be my favourite!

scouse look on the ons lists. There are lots of parents trying to be different and hundreds of girls with -rose. Emilie also sounds like emily, amelie, Amelia, Emilia, all top 100, if not top 10 names.

Nothing wrong with that. Dd2 has a name that is in a popular sound category but it may not be what you're after if its different that you want go for a consonant name as the vowel E is very popular at no, that way she ius like to be only one in class. Remember teacher might get tongue twisted over Emma, Emilia, Amelia, Willow-Rose, Mia-Rose, Evie-Rose, Emilie-Rose...ad nauseum.

There are beautul names like Bianca, Meredith, Georgina...

If you want hippy different Juniper, Wisteria, Amaryllis

Or if you like Rose how about Rosamund. At first the mund is rathger heavy but it grows on you and seems to have gravitas. I also think Rosamund Pike. Or Rosalina?

If you like Emilie how about Emiliana (Italian)?

I don't understand the widespread hatred of hyphenated names.

I think hyphens are best when used with more "classic", single syllable names after the hyphen - Anne, Jane, Rose, Grace. Marie and Maria also look nice as part of a hyphenated name imo.

So I would say Emilie-Rose is much nicer and more classic sounding (and therefore less likely to sound naff or dated in the future) then Emilie-Paige.

If someone introduced themselves to me as Emilie-Paige I'd assume their surname was Page.

There is an actress called Emily Rose, so that works in my head. Paige seems to jar a bit.

Rose. I don't think Emilie, whether in its French or English form, goes at all well with Paige.

Sorry, can't recall the name of the poster who asked if I use the double barrel names - Yes, I do! I gave them their names for a reason, and their teachers also use them too; I'd expect nothing less HmmAngry

I know an Emily-Beth, so Emilie-Beth would work.

I dislike hyphenated names too and think Emilie is lovely on its own. I know an Emily-Rose but very few people address her as the full name

Hyphens always make me think that parents couldn't reach a compromise so went with a favourite from each.

I prefer Emilie Rose to Emilie Paige.

Oh give over you lot ... My DD is 16 and has a hyphenated first name. It's very unusual as well, to boot. She loves it and she is called the first part of it generally but uses all of it for social media / nickname purposes.

Honestly, it's no biggie! My DS just has the one name. The OP can do what she likes without all the thinly disguised snobby comments.

I like the name Emilie but I prefer the Emily spelling. Emily Charlotte is nice

Can't really drop the hyphen, as my boys are Joseph-Alex and Mason-Riley, so need to continue the theme, so to speak! Wink
