Most beautiful, unique girl's name you know?

Please help! Still on the hunt for a girls name and I love ones that are incredibly unique (perhaps only heard once or twice).

Would love your best suggestions! Needs to be incredibly feminine as the surname is very traditional English, long, clunky.

Names ending in 'A' sounds work well. Names with 'ella' sounds don't (So Aurelia, while I love it, won't work and is becoming too popular).

Names like Arietta, Aya, Elka, Allegra? I'm just not sure we love them enough. What is the most beautiful, unique girls name you have heard?

Middle name not settled, but will probably be something more well known (Juliette, Francesca, Cara, Amelie). Thanks for your help!

PS I'm a name nerd and both dcs names are different but contemporary. So think flower name but not Rose, Lily...

That way kids still fit in. There's nothing wrong with having name of our time as long as its not constantly misheard as another name.

Unusual needs to take it every consideration. For instance there are lots of El names out there so there might be a class with Elizabeth, Elodie, Ellie, Ella, Elin, Ellen, Eliska...

In fact names that start with a vowel are incredibly popular, A being the most popular letter.

So beware of going for a name like Annaya as it will get lost amongst the amayas, Amy's and Amelias.

Also beware of unusual names that can be mistaken for their more common soundalike. Emmaline/Emily.

Names of babies I haven't met are Cassandra, Tamar, Bianca, Christabel.

Its also more unusual now to have a name that doesn't end in A or Y or IE.

Thank you! Some beautiful names in there. With the surname, we really do need a vowel ending, which yes does meet the current trends but makes the full name vaguely able to be pronounced. I always remember just the more unique names really were worn by some wonderful people (names like Ceridwen, Sari...).

I hate to break it to you, but I was browsing through baby naming trends this week as it just interests me (and I want to see how DS's name fits in with his potential school contemporaries)

Willow was reported as one of the biggest climbers in popularity according to another parenting site this week, and is listed as 'one to watch in 2015'. Another site has it tipped for a top 50 entry.

'a' endings are bang on trend and continuing to rise in popularity. Seven out of the top ten girls names end in an a.

18% of the top 50 girls names in 2013 started with E and that trend has continued this year too.

Etta (and names ending in Etta) are tipped to be the next big thing, in the same vein as Bella and names ending in Bella.

Ariana is looking like its going to be massively popular. I would avoid anything along the lines of Aurora, Ariana, Ariadne, Aurelia, Aria, Auria, Aurelie if you genuinely want to be unique.

But my suspicion is that actually you don't want to be as you unique as you think because of your preferences in your original post which are very much of the time.

If you want different, stay away from names starting with vowels and are floral in any way.

Some very harsh sounding names on here. Elka, Inga, Anouk - all germanic names which are not even popluar in Holland/Germany any more.

I would go with Bathsheba. Will certainly be unique.
