Twin Girls, looking for french names

Hello,

I'm having twins in May and I'm stuck on girls names. We already have a daughter named Amelie and I tend to gravitate towards french names. We had originally picked out Violet and Sofia but I've completely gone off Sofia as it's too popular (prefer unique names)

I've recently fallen in love with the name Miette but can't find any other names that would fit with it (Violet and Miette doesn't sound right together with the double 'et's).

Any suggestions?

Another vote for Manon here. Also love Sylvie (hi felix Smile), Mathilde, and Aurelie.

I just think of Babar when I hear Celeste and Celine Dion when I hear Celine, so not keen on those.

Sorry, didnt realise the OP had gone off Miette. In Dutch.and German, I think, you'd pronounce the e on that ending, BTW.

I like Miette and Elise. Quite strong, feminine, but not potentially fussy like longer French names. They seem to 'fit' for twins. Miette and Simone might also work.

She might not thank you for that when she's 30 though!

DD1 has a friend called Miel (Honey), who is French/American. I think that might be slightly better than being called Crumb.

My DD2' middle name is lise Pronounced lease. I love it but were not sure enough to use it as a first name. Not sure if it's french or French canadian - I should probably check.

There are huge numbers of 'Marie-" names where I live. I love a little girl in my son's class called 'Marie-Soleil'.

If you chose Violette, would you pronounce it in the English way (so round here would probably sound like Vi Lot) or Vee Oh Lett?

Miette does mean crumb, so you may want to rethink that one!
Minette is a cat's name.

What about Arianne ? I think it's such a lovely name which is known but not popular so you won't end up in the 'Sophia' situation again.
