Which do you prefer and why? Other suggestions welcome for first names and middle names, also like Astrid.

My niece is suzie, it's such a cute and different name Susannah I'd definitely nicer x

Susannah is lovely and I like Zanna/Zannie or Essie as nicknames as well as Susie.

While Alexandra is quite nice as a full name, I hear the name Alex so often that it is a bit overdone for me now and I really don't like Lexi.

So my vote is definitely for Susannah.

I like both, but I don't really like Alex as a nn. For Alexandra I would go for Sasha, Lexie or Andie as a nn.

I know 2 Susannahs - one is Susie, the other is Suz or just Susannah. Sukey is a a cute option too!

let's hope that in 21 years time, applicants will be allowed to be female.

I prefer the name Susannah to the name Alexandra which seems a bit masculine to me. It's allowed to be a woman, it shouldn't be a shooting yourself in the foot mistake to have a woman's name.

I have a very feminine name and I don't think it's what has held me back professionally. That would have been my poor exam results, my lack of any clear plan, lack of ambition perhaps, having too many children (yeh, that).

I like Susanna without the h (like Shakespeare's daughter), with the nn Susie.

Love both names and both on my list. Only I have Suzannah with a z and like the nn Suzy rather than Susie/ Suzie

I didn't think 'rubbish' when I read that.

But then I was once discounted for a job because I was female. I found out from someone who worked at the company that they were only ever intending to employ a male, so I complained, in writing.

I was then interviewed and I got the job.

Susannah is lovely, and Susie a very cute nickname

Alexandra is very nice.

But Susannah is the best name ever! Wish I could go back in time and name DD this, although I still like the name we did choose.

Like them both - helpful. Suzy is a fantastic name but it'd probably end up being Suze. I love Alexandra in full, but not sure I like Alex for a girl. She might just end up as Ally. I like Sasha as a nn so might nudge it towards that

Alexandra. Alex, Ally, Lexie, Alexa, Lex - much better shortenings.

Plus it's constantly amusing watching a 2yo trying to actually say Alexandra Grin

("Aly-da-da... Aly-an-dee-a... Al-eee-an-dada... Alex!")
