Thanks to everyone who offered opinions and suggestions on my previous thread. A couple of new ideas have since been thrown into the mix and am keen to get thoughts on these - particularly from any Irish MNers as DH is Irish. DD1 is Phoebe.

Thea - how likely would this be pronounced Tia?
Stella - apparently this means chav in parts of Ireland???
Clio/Cleo - does it just make you think of the car?

Thanks!

Thea is a lovely name. I like it pronounced Thee-a, Thay-a and Taya. Never heard of it being pronounced Tia though.

The similar sounding Theia was a titan goddess and sister of Phoebe in Greek mythology which may or may not appeal to you.

Stella - OK but is associated by some with the beer. No idea about in Ireland though.

Cleo/Clio - does make me think of the car I'm afraid.

Stella is lovely and goes really well with Phoebe. Isn't Phoebe the moon goddess - and Stella means star.

Thea - lovely name but could well be pronounced Tia in some parts of the country.

Stella - have never heard this used in Ireland as a term for 'chav'.

Cleo - GORGEOUS. I don't think of the car. I really love it and think it will be an easy name for your daughter to carry no matter where she ends up in the world.

I know a Clio, and she's utterly fabulous.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 26/11/2014 12:37

I like Thea

Love Stella
Know a Thea who pron it 'Taya' but got sick of telling people and changed the spelling.
Clio sounds like a car. My neice is called that and the kids call her 'Renault'
