Thea, Stella or Clio???

I have also named my baby Thea! She is six weeks old. I pronounce in Thee-a, but we have a connection to France, and over there it will be pronounced Tay-A, which I think sounds nice in a French accent, but I'm not so keen on Tay-uh in an English accent. I'm not keen on Tia, but I think it sounds better with an Irish accent!

I couple of people have asked how it's pronounced, but generally had a positive response.

I love the name Stella too and wouldn't associate it with the lager.

Cleo is nice too but I'd spell it with an e rather than an i.

I suppose Stella Artois isn't as widely available in Ireland as it is in the UK so doesn't have the same 'downmarket lager' image.

I'm Irish and have a Stella, it most definitely has nothing to do with the term "chav" or Irish equivalent! It's weird when I hear that English people associate it with the beer, it's a beautiful classic Latinate name!

I've just named my daughter Thea (13 days old) and we love the name. On the whole people have also said they like or love it.

We've had two people say Tia so far after seeing it written down (a midwife on post natal and a work colleague of DP) which I was surprised at as I don't see how anyone can see Thea and say Tia, unless as people say their accent would make it so. But from all the congratulatory calls and visits I'd say two mispronounciations isn't bad.

Also, a French friend from work has also named her daughter Thea, but with an accent over the e (don't know how to do that on my mob). Her name is pronounced Taya. I get the feeling that she will have a lot more correcting to do than mine will!

Love Stella, like Thea, hate Clio (sorry). I just can't get past the car associations!
I personally don't associate Stella with the beer, but that's probably as its my Granny's name.
I'm not in Ireland, but get that Thea may get mispronounced over there. Still a nice name though.

My dd is your third option, but with an e, so I think you can guess which gets my vote! But I love clione as someone suggested upthread, which I think I read somewhere is Irish? But top result on google comes up with sea slug, and that put me off

Stella is chavvy around here. Lager.

Stella is lovely too - I live in Ireland and I've never heard of it meaning chav, but you might get a few jokes about the lager.

Thea - in the region where I live it would almost certainly get pronounced Tia, but that wouldn't happen everywhere in Ireland.

Thea pronounced properly, followed by Cleo, never Stella it's very cheap sounding, reminds me of pleather jackets!

Taya is Greek pronunciation of 'Thea' and the one I would use.
Clio is a car so I would use Cleo but not that keen ( though know a clione which I like)
Stella I quite like though prefer Estelle personally

We have never had issues with pronnounciation of Thea beyond the toddler f-ia version which is as speach immaturity really.

I like Clio / Cleo the best with Phoebe.

I love Cleo, for what it's worth I think it goes well with Phoebe. I also really like Thea. Less keen on Stella. Astrid?

Clio is my favourite, but prefer the spelling Cleo

I once met twins called Stella and Cleo, not sure if the parents realised they'd done a brand name double.

Love Clio - I think of the Muse, rather than the car. Thea is very lovely too. Wouldn't think to pronounce it Tia, but I'm in London not Ireland! Have come across the Taya pronunciation though.

Personally not a fan of Stella - it always seems a bit brash to me, and i associate it with the beer and Stella McCartney. Much prefer Estella.

I think I'd go with Clio, if only because Phoebe and Thea is a bit of a mouthful.
