Where are all the baby Alices?

It's a name we're considering but after growing up with a massively popular name and all the irritations that come with that myself, I'm slightly put off by how quickly it's jumping up the rankings. It's gone from 50th in 2007 to 27th last year.

Having said that, the youngest I know personally is a teenager. So where are all the baby Alices?! Do you know any and where in the country are they?

Thank you!

I'm pregnant with a girl and also love Alice. My sons name is in the 300s in popularity though, so I am also wondering if Alice is getting too popular. I also like Iris and Etta.
What else is on your list OP? Just curious!

BikeRunSki · 28/11/2014 11:40

I'm loving all the love for my name on this thread. Grin

I hated it growing up because it's unusual for my age. I used to tell people I was called Laura.

LizzieMint · 28/11/2014 10:07

We have an Alice! I love the name (obviously). Ours is 4 and we know one other the same age. My eldest has an immensely popular name (top 5 for years) and yet we've never met another child with that name. Don't know where they're all hiding.

TinyTear · 28/11/2014 10:04

I know three 3 year old Alices and it's one of my shortlisted names for next April

canweseethebunnies · 28/11/2014 09:58

All the Alice's I know are in their thirties! I think I know 4. There was a thread on here recently about names that people irrational hate and Alice came up loads, which is weird cos I think it's a lovely name.

eeyoreeeyoreoh · 27/11/2014 21:51

Don't know any who are children.

Lovely sounding name, hate the Alice spelling though, think it's the 'lice' part. Love Alys.

peacypops · 27/11/2014 21:46

I have a 6 yr old Alice. Know of one other 3yr old and also once knew a very lovely 80 something Alice! I too have a feeling that it could potentially be a royal baby name.

lotsofcheese · 27/11/2014 16:13

PS I predict the next Royal Baby will be called Alice, if it's a girl.

lotsofcheese · 27/11/2014 16:12

I have an Alice (18m). I know of 3 more: age 3,4,7, all in Scotland. I don't think it's too popular up here.

dwinnol · 27/11/2014 16:07

a colleague has just named his daughter Alys here in South Wales. I know about 3 or 4 Alys's total who are all under 6 but none Alice's.

BlackberryandNettle · 27/11/2014 16:03

I know of three all ages around 5 but not met any. Baby Alices recently. Lovely name.

casiopeia · 26/11/2014 20:03

I know 4 baby/toddler Alices, all in London. Beautiful name.

Pandora452 · 26/11/2014 16:24

I know 2 20 something Alices, 1 30 something and a 4 week old :)

Fallingovercliffs · 26/11/2014 16:18

I know two Alices in their twenties, one in her fifties and a couple in their 70s. It's one of those classical names that's never madly in or out of fashion here in Ireland.

FrogsGoWaaa · 26/11/2014 15:41

threepiecesuite I might also be a teacher! Obviously they've not been put off by an Alice that they've taught! Or maybe they've never taught any and that's the attraction Smile

I have an Alice, she's 3 and a half.

threepiecesuite · 26/11/2014 11:10

I know 3 under the age of two - all the children of teachers. Not sure what that tells you.

minipie · 26/11/2014 11:09

Good question OP, I don't know any baby Alices (and I have met a lot of baby girls...)

I know one my age and one in her 20s

Go for it Smile

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/11/2014 07:37

I know one born earlier this year.

Unsure if she is Alice or Alys though (in Wales).

CoffeeTwo · 26/11/2014 00:53

I have a 3 year old Alys , also in south east.
I know of a baby Alice and a couple a similar age to DD.
I don't hear a lot of people talking about Alice as a name so I don't think it's too popular.

Rox19 · 25/11/2014 21:39

I am part of a group of 60 babies/ children aged 6m/ 4yr and last session there were 6alices there; weirdly all aged 1-2yr.

zgaze · 25/11/2014 18:19

I've got a small Alys here in the South East, haven't met any others since she was born nearly three years ago.

CyclopsBee · 25/11/2014 18:01

I know a 16 year old Alice and 2 twenty something Alice's

Not keen on the name I'm afraid
