Joseph would be nice.

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 22/11/2014 17:28

Joseph :-)I have a baby due in march and if it's a boy I'm trying to convince dh he should be a Joseph Grin

ralinax294 · 22/11/2014 17:25

I prefer Oliver but Joseph is less popular and still nice so if popularity bothers you then go for that.

LaPetiteCoccinelle · 22/11/2014 17:23

Joseph

Ive not stopped getting compliments for the name for the last 6 months Grin (not in the UK)

MiddletonPink · 22/11/2014 17:18

Oliver.

Beautiful name and popular for a reason.

1morecupofcoffee · 22/11/2014 11:34

Another vote for Joseph - both great names though

florascotia · 22/11/2014 11:25

Both nice names.

Oliver = no 1 in England and Wales in 2013, with 6,949 babies
Joseph = no 19, with 3,225 babies

For regional variations: www.ons.gov.uk/ons/rel/vsob1/baby-names--england-and-wales/2013/stb-baby-names-2013.html#tab-Regional-Variations
Oliver was most popular name in 6 out of the 10 regions. (In the other 4 regions, the most popular names were either Jack or Muhammad.)

Arriettyborrower · 21/11/2014 18:55

I have both so no help at all!! My Joe came first tho if that makes any difference.

pilates · 21/11/2014 18:15

Joseph

jellybeans · 20/11/2014 15:31

Joseph

Leeds2 · 18/11/2014 21:39

Joseph, nn Joe.

mysteryfairy · 18/11/2014 20:43

Where do you live? I think there is a lot of regional variation in how popular the name Joseph is whereas Oliver is universally popular. There are still a lot of Joseph and Joes here (Yorkshire), but my sister claims not to come across many in the South East.

Spanielpuppy · 18/11/2014 19:49

Definitely Joseph, I'm so fed up of hearing Oliver. Plus Joseph is a much stronger name

thegreylady · 18/11/2014 19:45

Joseph definitely though Oliver is lovely it is so overused these days.

kalidasa · 18/11/2014 19:31

I think Oliver was at the top of the charts last year? We already have a Joseph and will probably use Olivier (i.e. Oliver in French) as a middle name for DS2 (DH is French), but it is not so popular in France. We can't decide about the first name for the new baby though!

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 18/11/2014 19:31

Joe as far too many Oliver's

burgatroyd · 18/11/2014 19:26

Joseph. Oliver v popular at mo.

shggg245 · 18/11/2014 19:25

I have a Joseph although everyone calls him Joe. He's the only one in his school and I still really like the name. Good for man and boy and not crazily popular.

Again I'm biased. Smile

Freshstart2014 · 18/11/2014 19:21

I have an Oliver Joseph Smile

mrstowers · 18/11/2014 18:27

Joseph. There are far far too many Olivers.
