I thought I'd settled on Jude, but ds is due a week tomorrow and I'm having last minute doubts Confused

Dh and I both like Jude too, I'm just a bit worried he'll get called Judy at school Smile

What do you think sounds best?

Congrats on your new arrival!

That's a lovely name. To be fair you couldn't go wrong with either name.

Congrats Thanks

Well my ds was baby no name for two days but finally we went for Reuben Jude, as he just doesn't look like a Jude. Have had lots of lovely responses from friends to his name so I think it's a good choice.

Thanks for all your help.

Well it seems to be pretty much a 50/50 split!

Thanks very much, you've been no help whatsoever Grin

I like both names but the only Reuben I know is always called Ruby or Rubes and the only Jude I know is only ever called Jude. (both lovely boys)

LouMum14 · 18/11/2014 14:23

Jude is lovely and goes well with Elodie, which I love also. There is a Jude in my daughter's school and he doesn't get called Judy. Smile

tammytoby · 18/11/2014 14:21

I prefer Reuben.

But if you love Jude, then go for it and definately don't worry about it being shortened to Judy - it would actually make it longer! Also, Reuben could just as likely end up as Ruby!

Guin1 · 18/11/2014 14:20

Much prefer Jude.

hatsybatsy · 18/11/2014 13:41

Reuben

Just prefer it.

WhereHas1999DissappearedToo · 18/11/2014 10:28

I like both but prefer Jude.

Glastokitty · 18/11/2014 09:52

My 13 year old Jude has never been called Judy except by me and my husband when we are annoying him.

CormoranStrike · 17/11/2014 21:49

Reuben

Marcipex · 17/11/2014 07:48

I know a Jude called Judy throughout secondary. (Sorry, I know it isn't what you want to hear.)

LardyDa · 17/11/2014 07:48

I like both. Smile I wouldn't worry which one goes best with Elodie, you should just choose the name you prefer.

Squirm · 17/11/2014 07:42

Reuben is weak and twee. And very on trend right now.

Jude is way better.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 17/11/2014 06:51

Love Jude, Reuben is meh

LadyHamiltonsPussy · 17/11/2014 06:46

Plus the middle aged women thing Grin

LadyHamiltonsPussy · 17/11/2014 06:45

I know siblings called Reuben and Elodie. Jude doesn't go as nicely with Elodie imo.

LizzieMint · 17/11/2014 06:43

I know lots of Judes and they are all middle-aged women so I'd go for Reuben on that basis!

Glastokitty · 17/11/2014 06:41

Jude I may be biased

johendy · 17/11/2014 06:36

I love Jude. Not keen on Reuben, never have been. Not sure why..

squoosh · 17/11/2014 02:35

I love Jude. Reuben doesn't do much for me although seems to have become hugely popular in the last 18 months or so.

VainVulva · 17/11/2014 01:29

Detest Reuben, its just a name I seem to irrationally hate. On the other hand I just adore Jude!
