hahaha the car suggestions are good! it definitely passes as a name and if you didnt know that particular car you wouldnt automatically know she was named after a car.

Rooty - I have an unusual name myself, it's come up on a couple of threads on here and you always get people asking 'well what is it' despite my saying I can't say due to identity purposes.

A list is published of all the names given in Scotland each year. You could order it by popularity and have a look through the names which were only used once or twice. The 2013 one is here:

Oh don't be so precious OP. My DD has a totally daft rather unusual name and people's response is usually Confused. Which doesn't bother me remotely.

I know a young lady named after a certain farming event which happens each autumn and is celebrated in church services? Don't want to write it and out myself but it begins with H! I also know a girl with the same name as a brand of toy hamster that was very popular a few Christmases ago!! Would they work??
