Unusual as in they practically don't minded a surname.

Any inspiration?

Behind the name allows you to create name lists and then see the popularity of it in your country. I use it for writing stuff these days, but for fun I picked the ones most 'real life' names that don't have a popularity marker for England/Wales.

Abeni, Adalet, Adora, Alethea, Amerie, Amika, Aveline/Avelina, Audrea, Audra
Azura, Bettina, Breeshey, Caelia, Calanthe/Calanthia, Cedar, Ceres, Channary, Clarity, Cyra, Dascha, Dayana, Haidee, Halina, Hettie, Ianthe, Justica, Integra, Kelda, Kelia, Kelila, Leandra, Liviana, Luana, Lumi, Lusine, Lysandra, Maiara, Maura, Mercia, Merita, Mirabelle, Olivine, Panthea, Reina, Roxana, Ruba, Sakina, Selene, Sephina, Silva/Silvie/Silvia, Sojourner, Taina,
Tesni, Valora

There were 3 baby girls called Reem born in Scotland last year!!

Reem is a perfectly normal Arabic name.

minipie · 11/11/2014 15:12

You want to look at the full ONS spreadsheet (second link on this page) and look at tab 6 which has the top 5700 names from last year.

The ones down the bottom of the table should be pretty unusual or misspellingsSmile

ZingOfSeven · 11/11/2014 10:47

Tekla

Titanilla

Sidonia

SurfsUp1 · 11/11/2014 09:00

I know a Tialie. Her sister also had a name that was quite pretty sounding but made up by her parents. The girls hated it.

I've only ever come across one Merridy and one Marisa, one Moana, Sabrina, Guinevere, Brielle.

For a v long time I only knew one Tamsin but then I met another one with the same surname!!

Ramona or Paloma are different but nice.

Unfashionable names? Kylie? Sharon? Kristy? Kimberley?

Just please don't go for a normal name with a kookie spelling. Please!

Car name, is it Mercedes?

fakenamefornow · 10/11/2014 22:22

I always liked Erena, it's a Japanese name pronounced arena. What do you think?

gingerbreadmam · 10/11/2014 22:10

nope still not there although getting close with porshe ha!

as an aside, my name is quite common now and classed as chavvy by the likes of kh. when i was little it was very unusual though and i would have been the only one in my school and town even for some time. i hated it when i was little just wanted to be an emma or an amy, ive grown to like it now though.

helps that my mam didnt spell it quite right so kind of saves me from the chavvy bracket i like to think!

burgatroyd · 10/11/2014 21:34

Thisbe.
Its a real name and its not listed on the babies born in England and Wales list which means there are less than 3 born with that name.

madsadbad · 10/11/2014 21:08

One of my middle names has come up on the car list Grin
