Me: what do you think we should call your new baby sister?
DS (9): (unhesitatingly) Canada.
Me: why???
DS: because she'll never get teased; nearly EVERYONE likes Canada.

?????!!!!?????

So what would your DCs call their new sibling given half a chance?

Ds2 wanted the new baby (dc4) to be called Peter Rabbit. And for it to be a girl.
It was a girl, but we didn't go with his suggestion. Smile

Ebola Shock. He heard it on the news and thought it sounded cool!!

DS1 wanted to call the baby Spiderbaby. This would actually have been very apt for his very keen on climbing younger sibling.

MrsBungle · 30/10/2014 16:23

Dd's suggestions for the new baby were 'Toucan' or 'Palm Tree'.

IWannaHoldYourHand · 30/10/2014 18:52

Ds1 suggested The Mighty Sven for Ds2, 4 years ago. He's also suggested it to every pregnant lady he's chatted to since.

We actually gave Canada brief consideration. It was after a character in Akira. Mainly so we could go to the park and shout 'Caaannnaaaadddaaaaaa'.

We had a girl though so our poor child was saved :o

I asked my 3ds what they would call dc4 if it was a girl. They decided "granny". Needless to say, my mum is very chuffed!

My sister wanted to call me Nelly. I'm so glad my parents over-rode.

Someone I used to work her d.d wanted her to call her sibling Jesus. She had another girl though.

cherrybombxo · 31/10/2014 14:26

I wanted to call my brother Aaron. He's Adam, so not too far off!

Our then-neighbours had a baby girl (now 12, born in the back of the car on the way to hospital!) and when her big brother (8yo at the time) came to the door to announce her birth, my mum asked her name:

"Erm... Ernie, I think."

It's Erin Grin we still call refer to her as Ernie to this day!

Don't let Katie Price Jordan see this thread!!!!

I knew someone called Asterix when I was at uni.

DD likes the name Lissy so much so that she sometimes claims it is her name
DS votes for Lionel

megs7 · 31/10/2014 14:37

DS1 wanted to call DD 'Japan Fourfist', but if we couldn't remember that, we could use 'Japan Stop'. He changed his mind and decided 'Lady' was better.

We are not going with any of his suggestions.

Canada's not dull, just wholesome.

Moose shall we campaign for a maple leaf emoticon? Grin
