Just how bad are the initials BJ?

Last name starts with a J. I had previously made a rule that we therefore can't use a name that starts with a B, but DH and I like very few of the same boys names and one we both like, if we could use it, is Benjamin (Ben). Would we, as I suspect, be dooming him to a lifetime of teasing or would it not be that bad?

As it happens I know a Ben Jones but never noticed his initials until I saw them on his sports top, but I met him post-school age which is where I imagine the problems will occur.

Ok, exactly as I thought then. I admit when I noticed Ben Jones's initials I did snigger... Just thought others may be more mature than I am

Definitely sticking to the no B rule. It's not even my favourite boys name so not a big loss, just one I thought we could potentially compromise on.

Bloody awful!! You will have to explain the significance very early on too! I didn't want my dcs learning about oral sex very young! If you have a choice avoid other wise your child will have relentless piss taking their whole life!

Until you mentioned it, it didn't even occur to me what it meant. i wouldn't have though many people would immediately think of it either.

Solution would be to add a middle name so it'll always be BGJ or BAJ or whatever.....

Bad. My bil's initials are bj and even though I am 34 years old I still snigger.

Ummm.... I wouldn't.

You could ameliorate it by giving him a middle name, perhaps, but it would have to start with A :)
