She's nearly here and we think we like this name? DM hates it but I can't see why.

To us it sounds feminine but she reckons it's harsh.

What say you mumsnet?

To me it sounds like a character on Home and Away. Maybe Eileen's long lost sister?

How do you pronounce Noelia?
No-lia?
No-ell-ee-a?
No-e-lia?
Nole-ee-a?

It looks very confusing to me and I wouldn't now what to say.

I like Nola, DS1 used to go to nursery with one. I also like Rita and Nora though!

I know someone called Noelia, i think it's a lovely name and quite unusal too.
Everyone either calls her Noe, (no- eh) or her full name, but you could have many nn's ,Lia, Elia,Elli....
What do you think?

very feminine indeed. Softer and sweeter than Nora. (Nova for me is the 60s/70s magazine, so very dated)
"Nola" is a famous piano piece by Felix Arndt, which I think was named for his wife.

It doesn't remind me of Nolan because Nola has a very clear LA sound at the end of it.

Don't like Nora seems a bit old lady Smile Smile

I don't think it sounds exotic or feminine at all. Reminds me of the surname Nolan which isn't one bit pretty.

It's a very brown, sludgy name to me.

Name of the (rather good) debut album by a heavy metal supergroup called Down, featuring Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity) and Phil Anselmo (Pantera) among others.

Therefore I think it is an awesome name.Wink

ooh and I like the name rita Wink Wink I must have 70s taste in names. My mum says it reminds her of sheila in 'feel'. but to me Nola seems like a feminine exotic lovely name not 70s at all!
