What are unusual names that have stood out for you in your dc's class?

There is an Alaska which makes me smile every time I hear it and a Francesca and Emma which are nice because they are names that I hardly hear on children.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Dennis Jimenez. Always makes me chuckle!

moxon · 11/10/2014 19:55

There's a Wolfie in my DD's nursery class. This delights me.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 11/10/2014 16:25

I know a Justin Hale! Hes a full on grown adult - is your dd? It might be the one I know!

Oooh, just came across a Harlequin. Hell of a name to live up to but kind of perky, I guess.

mathanxiety · 11/10/2014 03:09

Dean and Lionel - you don't hear those names every day.

BikeRunSki · 09/10/2014 19:28

There's an Enzo at nursery with DD. I guess it's more common in Italy than Yorkshire.

minniemagoo · 09/10/2014 18:54

Came across a boy at camp called 'Lord Glory' - I think it's pretty normal in some African communities to have such direct names. I love the idea.
Most out there was 'Moose' - this in a smallish Irish town definitely stood out Grin Grin He's a very quiet and tbh weedy looking teen, he hasn't grown into the name yet.

Yorkshirelassreturns · 09/10/2014 15:24

I know of a Bunny. Surname is Butt. I kid you not.... And she was originally called Grace but mum changed the name to Bunny by deed poll.... Poor kid

My all time favorites are
Zidane (first name)
Oscar (first name) Peterson (last name)
Persephone and Cosmo (siblings)

TheresLotsOfFarmyardAnimals · 09/10/2014 11:27

I used to know of a Coco Mademoiselle

DS's nursery class all seem fairly normal in their names. He is probably the most out there, but not really.

coraltoes · 09/10/2014 11:24

Honey

thegreylady · 09/10/2014 11:17

Sonny is not unusual here. I know 2 one is 7 and one is 10. It makes me think of Paul Robeson singing 'Sonny-boy'.

StoneFoxMama · 09/10/2014 10:54

Nixie
Boudicca
Paloma
Wolfie

I love them all

MistyMeena · 09/10/2014 08:42

Anakin.

telsa · 09/10/2014 08:35

Leonard and Beau, a girl, make me smile.

306235388 · 09/10/2014 08:29

I know little a little Linda, Anne and Norman.

There is also karma and Star.

My kids have unusual names- waiting to see them pop up!

BastardGoDarkly · 09/10/2014 07:24

surfs were they traveller children? Remember being in a hostel one and a girl had a digger and ivor, she was a traveller (ex)

longest · 09/10/2014 06:31

Cocktail DS goes to an international school :)

It's "any name goes" there, literally.

3pigsinblanketsandasausagerole · 09/10/2014 05:49

I know a jay-zee although that doesn't make me smile and a breeze which is OKish
