What are unusual names that have stood out for you in your dc's class?

There is an Alaska which makes me smile every time I hear it and a Francesca and Emma which are nice because they are names that I hardly hear on children.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Are you in Scotland? It's pretty common for Roberts to be Rab, although I don't know any young ones.

I have come across a Diesel, Caesar and a cindarella!

Planetwaves · 19/10/2014 00:36

Not my DCs' nursery but my fave name belongs to a friend of my parents - now in his sixties I think: Pudens. From the Latin ("bashful"), though of course the first thing one thinks of is "pudenda". Poor man, I think at least he is of the social class to have been called mainly by his surname. I dread to think of his ordeals at boarding school :o
