Urgent help- registering tomorrow

Dd is 11 days old now and due to be registered tomorrow! We agree on her first name "Lucy" which we both love and have agreed that she will have my surname as we are not married/living together and in fairness the first 6 months of the pregnancy were stressful and we spilt up as he didn't want baby!

Now I want Ellen as middle name (my nans name) and he wants May (his mums name and he will not budge or compromise that we have both! He says because I'm getting the surname he should choose middle and refuses point blank to have Ellen included at all!

He now is refusing to even discuss and telling me to do what I want as it's all about me!

I'm wondering if I should just not have either and come up with another middle name

Any suggestions ?

Lucy Ellen May sounds lovely to me, he's being an arse and will get over it. Just use them all.

Normally I would say let him choose, however as he wasnt supportive in pregnancy and didn't want the baby - what's to say he will stick around now? My dh chose our baby's full name but in fairness he deserved to I think. Every other man I went out with let me down and dh has been great.

If I wasnt with someone who fully supported and loved me and baby then no way would I have them choose. Maybe I am harsh though !!!

What's his problem with the name Ellen? Does he dislike your mum?

My dd has May as one of her middle names but you have to be very careful with it or it will sound a bit erm.. Rough.

Not sure if Lucy Ellen works either. What are your mum's and his mum's middle names? Or your grandmother's names?

Oh and he is being an idiot.

I'd take him at his word. Do what you want.
Go and register her as Lucy Ellen. Add May as a 'nod' towards his mother and because you are able to be an adult. He's being childish.

If it's all about you - then do what you want. You agreed the 1st name so he's had input and your baby could have both other names.

Do what you want to do Homepride or you will regret it.
