Well it's official! Those never coming back 60s/70s names are on their way!

Ok, so not official but today I met an uber cool mum. You know, effortlessly chic with stunning DH and beautiful boden catalogue children? Anyway, she had a 2yr old DS called Jonny and baby twin girls called...Pamela and Jennifer. Now I'm not sure if Jennifer has ever gone out of fashion but Pamela certainly had, surely? She called them Jen and Pam too! I said I thought her children were beautiful and that she was probably setting a new trend in 60s retro cool names (I meant this genuinely). She said yes, she was quite sure that by the time her Pam was 10, Pamela would be the new Florence. I believed her too!
I realised I'm probably outing where I live as there can't be that many but hey, I thought it was cool!

Maybe my 1960s Wayne was a trend setter? Still not forgiven him for smashing my best conker though.

I don't want Paul coming back any time soon. There is still a huge glut of them that were born on the 80's.

I love the name Angie. There are a few Gary's where we live. Every Pamela I have met has been lovely too. I've not actually met a nice Fiona.
Has anyone met a baby Mary recently?

In my year at school it was all Kevin, Stephen, Mike, Paul, David, Peter. I actually know two Gary's under 10, both are named after their dad's.

Ds (13) is mates with David and Stephen, they haven't disappeared, just not so common now.

I don't think Matthew ever went out of fashion, it's a lovely blokey name IMO.

And Sandra. I went through a stage of wanting to be called Sandra.

It's mil name though.

I have a little Jennifer so I biased but I do quite like Pamela too. I think DP would have gone for Pam as a name as he has a bit of a secret Dallas obsession.

I've recently heard of boys called Martin, Mark and Darren all of which I would have left in the 70's tbh q

60/70s boys were called Nigel, Jeremy, Wayne, Dean, David, Neil, Timothy, Paul, Ian and Andrew. And families with two boys all seemed to have called them Simon and Nicholas. Quite a lot of Richards around then too.
