help please with a boys name

DH and I both LOVE Joshua. We have a list of a couple of other names as well but this is our fave. Middle name will be Joseph regardless of first name as it was my grandpa.

There are two things that are making me unsure:

Does Joshua Joseph sound a bit much?
Our surname begins with 'W'. This is the biggie - I think we'd mainly call the baby Joshy or Josh when he's older but I'm aware there is a clash between the 'ua' at the end of Joshua and the start of our surname.

I don't know whether we should just go with the name anyway because we love it.

Others on the shortlist are Saul, Eli, Asher.

Thoughts?

I'd go with it. Can't think of a W surname that makes Joshua sound silly.

Like Saul and Eli, Asher's okay. Stick with Joshua if you love it.

I think it's a lovely name and Joshua Joseph is really nice but I know you obviously don't want to say your surname but I can think of a a W surname that Joshua might sound a little strange with - there's an au in it.

So are you pronouncing Joshua American style? Josh-wa?
If not, and you are pronouncing it Josh-you-u, then I can't see the I suite with W name at all. Even American style it's not a biggie IMO.
It's a great name btw.

I think it's nice my dc2 middle name will also be Joseph as my dads name.

I know a Joshua Joseph who is just called JJ.. My surname is also a W.. Woo sound and it as a stight tongue twister saying Joshua Woo but it wouldnt put me off.. My fav boys name has a w in it and it is much harder to say but ppl would get used to it.
