Hi everyone, I'm new on here & I'm currently expecting my first child ??

I am toying with names at the moment but there's two that have really stuck with me

Jolie-Marie
Joshua-Jak

Please tell me what you think of these? I'm also stuck as weather to have hyphenated first names or first & middle names...

Please don't hyphenate. It just looks OTT, twee, silly.

Jolie is nice, but people will think of Angelina...

Joshua is perfectly good!

Good J names:

Juliette
Judith
Josephine (good nn potential here - Posy for example could satisfy your girly leanings but give her a more 'grown-up' name option too?)

Jacob
Jago
James

I am not keen on jolie tbh but i think
Juliette Maria
Would b a lovely alternative
Joshua Jack or Jake
Or
Joshua Jude
Sound nice (JJ) ... I don't like jack spelt jak or jac... Looks abit feminine to me.

Yeah I'm not too sure about the hyphen at the moment to be honest.
I like juliette...
I also like the name Jude for a boy.

I'm quite in to names beginning with J for some reason

Thank you Smile

Sorry meant to say Jolie Marie

mum9876 · 03/10/2014 00:02

Jolie Maria and Joshua Jack are fine.

AnythingNotEverything · 02/10/2014 23:53

Don't. That's all I can say. Please don't.

I like Jolie-Marie, but not Joshua-Jak. I would go for first and middle names rather than hyphenated. If they like both they can always choose to hyphenate them and use both (I knew someone who did this) but it's harder to do it the other way round and just use one name if your parents have hyphenated you.

How about Juliette or Julianne / Joshua on its own?

Congrats BTW Smile
