Help!! Difficult choice of boys names: Sean, Daniel or Balonz?

Dear MNers. Hoping you might all be able to help us out as we’re having real difficulty agreeing a name for DS due soon. For DD, we went 'rare'. Weren’t sure we were quite ready to find some ultra-weird name, but equally there are millions of Kates, Elizabeths and so ons.

For DD though, we’re thinking a much more traditional name, perhaps inspired by close friends/family. What are MNers’ thoughts on either Sean, Daniel or Balonz? Many thanks in advance!

OP even if you are genuine and do have a friend called Balonz, surely the fact you have (presumably) never met or even heard of another one would tell you it is not a traditional name in this country?

On balonz, I'd go for Daniel.

Having now located the full list of baby names for 2013 I can confirm op that it is not only outside the top 100 but not one baby was named Balonz last year! Maybe there's a reason for that - can you live with comments like the last 4 pages?!

Still not convinced it's not a wind up....

I like Daniel, but there are a lot of them about if that's an issue for you.

Sean's a perfectly good name but not one I'd use.

I'm assuming Balonz is a joke.

I actually used to know a man people called balonz. I think it was a last name not a christian name though. I think he was german or australian or something. He was a bit strange sometimes.

if you can hear my voice above the tumbleweeds, OP, I would say that it probably comes in on the boys' list somewhere between Adolf and BingoWings. To clarify, somewhere rather south of both Daniel and Sean.

I vote Daniel. Or possibly BingoWings.

Don't be silly. Traditional Surrey names are things like Ptolemy and Horatio and Tristan.
