4 letter girls, strong, timeless girls names

Any suggestions for short, strong, punchy girls' names? I want something that is timeless, strong and short. I probably don't want an "ee" sound at the end as that sounds very girly to my ears. I would like it to be four letters long.

My current list is:
Anya
Tessa (5 letters! I really want four)
Nina
Rose

I like the following but probably would not use them as I don't feel they are timeless:
Lola
Iris
Juno

What do people think of my list and do you have other suggestions?

TIA

I love all three, I'm not much help Smile, I think Nina actually gets my vote. Nina and Tess both floated around when we were naming dd3. We went for something else, but I've always really liked Nina.

Thanks all

I think we are down to Nina, Ruth or Tess.

Would have to say that Anna is timeless for me but not Anya, which has been a popular variant in recent years. Agree too that anything other than standard spelling is not classic. Joan would be a classic strong name. Lots of other good suggestions too - I like Ruth, all the Cara /Tara names.

Jane is a fab, much underused name.

Blondiemama · 30/09/2014 06:02

Esme, Elsa, June and my personal favourite which I'm saving in case I have a DD...Lila

I like Ruth, Alys and Tess (not Tessa) from your list. I think the rest are a bit insipid.

From other suggestions I like Nora, Rita, Elsa, Vita, Romy and Elin.

It's not 4 letters but Clare is much underused now imo.

Juno is THE strong timeless name imo - Roman Goddess after all!

I surprised you think of these names as strong. They seem babyish and girly not strong. If you actually wanted strong then:
Carmen
Virginia
Vivian
Frances
Regina
Cleo
