I love the name Lois, I have worked a nursery nurse for 5 years now, and had a beautiful little girl with this name . Wondering if anyone has an opinion on this?

I love it. It was a strong contender for DD.

poppydaisy · 01/10/2014 15:38

I don't find it very feminine looking/sounding, sorry.

I would prefer Lucinda, Lucy or Louisa.

Mammanat222 · 01/10/2014 15:34

I actually really like it!

heebiegeebie · 01/10/2014 14:04

I like it, also like Eloise which I think it can be a nn for.

There are two Lois' is my 6 yo DD's class Smile

TheNewStatesman · 01/10/2014 13:59

It is a lovely name. I would have chosen this if it had "worked" in Japanese.

DramaAlpaca · 30/09/2014 22:33

I like it. I've only known one Lois, & she was lovely.

Teachermummy27 · 29/09/2014 20:59

I have a Lois! She's 14 months old and I love her name. Strong, yet feminine, traditional and still a bit unusual. Hubby picked it from our list and it's just so very 'her'

katiegee · 29/09/2014 18:21

Your post made me smile, I worked in a day nursery for a summer once and there was a little girl called Lois. She was a dote, I've liked the name ever since!

I like that it's feminine but not overused... it seems a lot of people associate it with Lois Lane or Famy Guy but I really like it :)

So pretty! We are having a 'Juliet' in October and if there was another DD after her you've just given me another name Grin

AWhistlingWoman · 28/09/2014 18:44

I love Lois and it was on my list for DD3.

FrazzledMiddleChild · 28/09/2014 18:44

Love it!

WowserBowser · 28/09/2014 18:43

D0nnaO It was my Mum's middle name - after her Grandma and was pronounced 'Loys' too! Never heard of it being pn this way apart from them before.

YonicScrewdriver · 28/09/2014 18:41

I like it too.

Marcipex · 28/09/2014 18:40

I like it.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 28/09/2014 18:38

Yes I do. It's very pretty. It makes me think of Lois from family but nothing wrong with that family Guy's fantastic.

loislines · 28/09/2014 18:35

It's my name and I've always loved it. In my 30s now and it has become much more popular now than it was. Lois lane was always a comment but never bothered me.

Georgina1975 · 28/09/2014 17:10

But not enough to worry about

Georgina1975 · 28/09/2014 17:09

I have a 5 year-old Lois - I think Lois Lane and Lois from family guy are great girls too :-). We wanted a short name that would carry through any age.

We have had a bit of odd pronunciation - some try to call her Louis! But enough to worry about.

I know a delightful Lois. Go for it! Lovely name

jazzyjenbo · 28/09/2014 16:27

Its a top contender on my baby name list if we have a girl.

Mentioned it to my parents and they kept going on about lois lane.. But i think almost every name has an association... Phoebe (from friends), noah (ark) simon (cowell) etc etc... Go with it very pretty
