Anyone know or have an Austin?

Really like the name Austin but never met any in RL!

Just wondering what general opinions are?

I know two. Initially not keen but it has grown on me. My first car was an Austin metro so let to think I've some affection for it. Wink

I know a 40 year old Austin in the UK, never come across any others. It's one of those names that are pretty normal, timeless but aren't overly popular.

It is ds's middle name after my grandad. Only once has someone mentioned Steve Austin the Bionic Man.

Don't know one, but not really a fan. Very American, and no warmth to it really. Like a lot of other people, I would think of the car, and think it a bit unappealing as a name.

There is one in my post natal baby group. So just a couple of months old. I think is quite cute but I wouldn't have considered it for DS.

I don't know an Austin, but cherry I do know two boys called Hunter. One a baby and one three years old.

I used to work with an Austin. Top guy he was. Only positive thoughts on that name.

I know one who'd be about 14 now. It's OK, but I don't think it suits around where I live, as I grew up overshadowed by the Austin car works, and it's a bit like calling someone Audi, or BMW or Mecedes, or Jaguar, for me. Grin

Felix I'm glad to hear that, anyone I've mentioned the name to has been a bit Hmm about it. But then they have also been like that about Struan, which is my number one choice for a boy and that couldn't be anymore Scottish!

I'm in the UK (North west) and know of two little boys called Austin. One is almost 2 and the other is around 3 or 4.
