Alyssa Milano's baby girl's name Elizabella

She's called her new baby girl Elizabella. I've never heard of it before but I have to admit I really like it.

What do others think?

Do you think the Liz syllable is pronounced as in Elizabeth (is) or as in Eliza (eyes)?

Alyssa was a teen star and I LOVED HER. Not sure I love Elizabella though. Anyway, I used to do her workout video here it is for you all to enjoy Grin

Also I sell handmade stuff online and once sold an item to a lady called Kimothy...

Probably wouldn't be brave enough to use one for a baby although I do like the sound of Elizabella tbh!

Well, it does sound made up/mashed up but it's still very pretty.

Elizabella and Isabeth are both lovely actually. I think you could make up a lot of rather frilly but really nice names that way actually, though it's not something I've ever considered before.

I know an Elliana. Elliearrrnarrr. Its a similar sort of thing. Nothing wrong with it
per se (sorry) but its awfully frilly and ott.

Dunno. It's better than one name split over siblings, have heard several examples but Izzy and Sabella is the one that sticks with me.

I do really like it, but I think she'll spend her life explaining she doesn't have a speech impediment, her name really is said like that.

Elisabel is 100% legitimate, as it's the original form of the name Isabel.

They don't have the 'th' sound in Spanish, so the 'th' in Elisabeth was changed to an L, and over time the name was simplified to Isabel.

I have a 1920s book about a girl named Elisabell, with the explanation that her parents couldn't decide so put two names together.
