We are considering the name Rae if we have a girl and wondered what others thought?
We do like names that are different but due to our long surname only want a maximum of a 4 letter name.
This would be our third girl and have used our favourites.
Any thoughts?

Gorgeous name, have a close relative with the name Rae and she is beyond gorgeous in every way Smile

Really like Rae. Would consider for DC2 but too similar to DD's name. Zoe is also lovely. Not keen on Pearl though, sorry!

DD3 has it in her first name, she is named after her great aunt Rachel who was always known as Rae :) I love it :)

I thought Zoo was a really cool hipster name Grin

A parent called Rae signed in the register at toddler group today. She did a lovely whirly R too and the name looked fab!

aoife24 · 16/09/2014 19:23

I once worked with someome who went by 'Rae', nn/shortening of Marjorie and so much better than that.

Cherry78 · 16/09/2014 17:23

sorry Zoo should indeed read Zoe Grin Grin

Glamorous and would age well. Much nicer than Zoo! (Zoe?) and Pearl.

Cherry78 · 15/09/2014 21:49

pleased to see such positive comments. It's now between Zoo, Pearl and of course Rae. Think we're leaning towards Rae

I love it. I hadn't thought about it before but it's going on my girls' names short list. Smile

Gemerama82 · 15/09/2014 20:37

I like Rae as short for aurelia

UsuallyHateNameChangers · 14/09/2014 14:45

Kaekae · 13/09/2014 23:22

I watched "My Mad Fat Diary" and the girl called Rachel but known as Rae made me quite like the name.

cece · 13/09/2014 23:19

I have a good friend with this name. I have always liked it .

Maomoo · 13/09/2014 23:18

Its my middle name and I love it. Makes an even better first name. Go for it!

PixieofCatan · 13/09/2014 23:15

I love it :) Makes me think of the Sailor Moon character Rei though geeky

Thurlow · 13/09/2014 22:27

Love it. Liked it as a shortening for Theresa, though I suspect that might be my dodgy pronunciation of Theresa Grin But a really great name.

dorasee · 13/09/2014 22:21

I love this name for a girl! I suggested this to hubby with our third who turned out to be a boy. :-) It is a really beautiful name.

MrsBungle · 13/09/2014 22:19

I like it - strong, yet feminine.
