Opinion on these girls names

Still struggling to find the perfect name.. siblings are Carissa, Daisy and Simon. Thanks all, suggestions welcome.

Carissa is on my list for #2 so you clearly have exceptional taste! I like Caroline from your list but too similar to Carissa I think. Sarah & Natalie are also on my (very large) list of possibilities with Natalie bding my favourite.

Here's some other suggestions...

(Hmm, actually I misspoke and rank-wise Addison is still up there. But the actual percentage of baby girls being named Addison is dropping off sharply so I expect the rank to drop soon as well)

Marnie is unusual and quirky so is the standout name from your list for me.

There were loads of Addisons around in the US about eight years ago but it's tailing off now -- so it's already pretty dated and will only get more so IYSWIM?

Caroline you have the C issue.

Tessa is nice but sounds too much like Carissa.

Michelle seems dated to me too -- I'm in my forties and was at school with approximately a billion Michelles.

Alexis makes me think of Dynasty.

Kyla is OK but again it had a peak around ten years ago (although never as hugely popular as Addison) .

Sarah you have the S issue.

Natalie is OK but seems a bit dull.

I'd rule out Caroline as too similar to Carissa, it makes them sound like a 'pair'. Likewise Carissa and Tessa - makes Daisy sound left out.

I don't like Marnie as it sounds too similar to 'mardy'.

Addison = cab company. Madison? mermaid from Splash

No strong feeling about the others, other than Michelle is very 70s to me, Alexis very 80s.

hollie84 - we lived in england till a few years ago and there's a chance we may move back so we don't want anything too 'american sounding'. Although, Addison is pretty normal around here (I think it's in the top 20?), but we hear names everyday that I'm pretty sure mumsnet would hate. DS has a Coco and a Jessabell in his class.

With your other children's names I'd go with Natalie, Marnie or Alexandra.

Addison is pretty uncommon - no girls with that name until about 15 years ago and since then only around 50 or less each year. Where do you live OP?

Addison - not to my taste but I don't like surnamey type names
Caroline - nice!
Tessa - love it, particularly Tess
Michelle - very 1980s, not to my taste, sorry
Alexis - makes me thing of Dynasty, but I do like Alexa
Marnie - love it
Kyla - don't like it, sorry, feels a bit Kasey/Jayden
Sarah - fine but dull
Natalie - feels dated

I see what you mean about initials, I'd avoid that too.

Love the name Simon. Smile

I like Sarah, Natalie and Marnie isn't too bad. I love Tess but really dislike Tessa. I watched a film with an Addison in it, it was a little boy.

Addison isn't really a name for a child, is it? It's a taxi company.

I'd also say an anglicised version of a Gaelic surname used for a girl is very American in style Grin As is using a masculine name for a girl.

Bowlersarm - huh I only just noticed that!! Guess it just goes well with our last name.

hollie84 - Kyla is actually Gaelic and Alexis is Greek (not saying they don't sound America, but just saying). Why the question marks my Addison?

DH worries that Carissa/Caroline or Sarah/Simon might be a problem with initials.. He has the same as his father's, and gets his post sometimes.

Addison???

Caroline, Tessa and Sarah are lovely.

Marnie I love but seems to be very popular suddenly.

Natalie and Michelle are a bit dated, but I do like Natalie.

Alexis and Kyla are not very pretty and rather American sounding imo.

Marnie is my favourite girls name so I'd go with that obviously.

I also like Tessa but then you have a lot of 's's in your DC's names!
