Twin names Quinton and Finley (Quinn and Finn), are they too matchy?

Hi all,

We are due to have twin boys very soon and really like the names Quinton and Finley, but I'm worried that they sound a little too alike. Just wondered about people's opinions about this, or can you suggest any other alternative names to go with either the above? Thanks!!

I know a brother and sister called Quinn and Finn - and yes, people do think they are too matchy when they first hear it. You soon get used to it tho,

To make it slightly less matchy matchy, what about:

Quinn and Flynn

If it wasn't for the fact that this is apparently a Glee couple (I don't watch it, so wouldn't have known) then I do quite like the matchy matchiness of twin names like Quinn and Finn/Flynn

Twins are cute and matchy, I know of twins called Buddy and Buster .... Quinn and Fin are gorgeous names

Not that this should necessarily put you off, but you know that Quinton is an area of Birmingham don't you? Personally I'd go for Quentin and steer clear of rhyming names at all costs.

Quinton and Finley are fine but Quin and Finn sound terrible together.

Both great names. But I agree that the nicknames Quinn and Finn are too matchy, sorry.

How about Frederick (Fred) or Albert (Albie) to go with Quinton?

We have Quentin btw whose nicknames include Quenny or Quin. I think that goes better with Finley.

Quinton and Ferdinand - Quin and Ferdie

Where I live there are a lot of Fins; the odd Flynn (which sounds very similar when they are all in the same class, and a fair few Freds. It's enough to put me off F names for boys. For that reason I would probably not use Quinton either as people will hear "Quinn" and may mishear as another Fin.
