12 weeks pg with DC3. Girls name probably sorted. Boys much harder!

Thoughts please on:

Gabriel
Seth
Franklin
Dawson
Wyatt
Henry

Thanks in advance (I can handle honesty at this stage!)

I only like Seth Sad

McGriffo · 06/09/2014 19:53

Gabriel and Henry.

thatsn0tmyname · 06/09/2014 17:04

Henry only from me

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/09/2014 16:54

Love Gabriel. Don't like any of the others. Really dislike Seth, Dawson and Wyatt.

florascotia · 06/09/2014 16:52

Of your list, I like Gabriel and Seamus.

Please excuse me if you know this already:

Shay and Seamus are separate names.

Seamus is the Irish and Scottish version of James

Shay is an English pronounciation of the Irish name Seaghdha www.behindthename.com/name/se10aghdha.

The Scottish version (in the English language) is Shaw.

Love Auden! Seth is quite nice too if a bit more well-used.

Bear in mind you're on week 12 and have the ability to change your mind once, twice, thrice throughout pregnancy.

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 06/09/2014 15:50

I love Josiah and Seamus.Smile

TheWhispersOfTheGods · 06/09/2014 15:47

Seth is fab, Gabriel is pretty great, Henry or Seamus would be doable if there was a fight (but dull)

The rest (both lists) are pretty bad, Dawson, Wyatt, Josiah and Malachy especially.

Orangeisthenewbanana · 06/09/2014 15:35

Gabriel and Henry. Maybe Seth.

littlesupersparks · 06/09/2014 15:35

Lots of Gabriel and Gabes at my school - never heard of them being confused as girls.

RedNosedClone · 06/09/2014 15:31

Seth
Seamus / Shay
Henry

birdofthenorth · 06/09/2014 15:23

Nope not Irish but lots of Celtic family history!

Gabriel - s'all right
Seth - s'all right
Franklin - bloody turtle
Dawson - hate
Wyatt - hate
Henry - like - was one of our choices but we went with something else instead
Malachy - not really keen
Seamus/ Shay - if you're going to do it, use Seamus and call him Shay as nn
Auden - not keen
Josiah - s'all right
Jonah - s'all right

:)

Only1scoop · 06/09/2014 15:19

Are you Irish Op. I think Gabriel is lovely ....just like Mr Byrne himself Wink

birdofthenorth · 06/09/2014 15:17

Malachy
Seamus/ Shay
Auden

Thanks all. Gabriel, Seth and Henry coming out on top, then. My issues are: Gabriel, are with poster re potential Gayboy and Gabrielle teasing; Henry, far too popular for my taste but OH likes it; Seth, love it but DN is Seb which could cause confusion.

Yes Saffron, I was thinking the same.

Only1scoop · 06/09/2014 08:44

Gabriel is nice,

saffronwblue · 06/09/2014 08:43

Love Gabriel but DS thinks he dodged a bullet with it as there are certain kids who will change it to Gayboy.

Henry and Seth are great. To me, the others are like surnames.

pilates · 06/09/2014 08:39

Henry and Seth.

Don't like the others.

Applefallingfromthetree2 · 06/09/2014 07:15

Seth
Henry
Gabriel

BikeRunSki · 06/09/2014 07:05

Gabriel - love this, could have been boy's name for ds.
Seth - like. Bible story doesn't worry me. Popular though.
Henry - Classic

BalloonSlayer · 06/09/2014 07:01

Gabriel - lovely. Be aware that a LOT of people might still think it a girl's name. I recently encountered a Sunday school teacher teaching the children: "the angel Gabrielle came down and she said ..." Shock
Seth - I like this and we considered it for DC3 but I wouldn't have it because it was the name of the baby Adam and Eve had when one of their other two DCs killed the other one - and hormones got to me! Blush
Franklin - not keen on "surname" names and isn't there a kids TV series about a v dopey turtle called Franklin?
Dawson - getting VERY popular around here. I think it will turn into one of those "Your name's Dawson is it? You must have been born between 2012 and 2016" names.
Wyatt - makes me think of Wyatt Earp, cowboys, and thus rednecks
Henry - love this and v popular but I expect you know this but classic

3pigsinblanketsandasausagerole · 06/09/2014 06:49

Henry is ok, but I think getting quite popular. Not keen on the rest! Sorry!

peggyblackett · 06/09/2014 06:47

Love Henry. Not overly keen on the others.
