Is the name Sadie really popular?

Exactly that really! Its our favourite girls name so far with some time left to go. I know of one but don't actually know any despite having two children, both in school and we've never met one in baby groups or anything.
I've got an Isla and it's sooooo popular, there's always one wherever we go so I want to avoid that happening again if I can help it.
My second favourite is Elsie but I've heard of a few recently so I think that's on the up too.

It's got sporting celebrity endorsement - Brian O'Driscoll's daughter is called Sadie.

I don't think I've ever come across a single Sadie in nearly 20 years teaching. I don't know of any 'new' ones either. I know a couple but they're ancient my age. It's a really pretty name - use it!

Lovely name and I don't know any. Only Sadie Frost springs to mind and hardly a bad thing.

I only know one Sadie and she's 15. Elsie is much more popular and nowhere near as nice as Sadie.

Sadie is traditionally the nickname for Sarah. I'm not sure if most people know that. It's pretty popular these days. I know a few.

Oh that's good news! I thought it might be creeping up to 'Isla' popularity but it seems not. That makes me love it a bit more!

I have a Sadie 18mo, she was named after my great aunt but have yet to meet another one Smile

I don't know or know of any Sadie's. I know a couple of Elsie's though.

I know of one Sadie born recently.
I think Elsie/Elsa is much more popular atm, especially because of the Frozen film.

Only 2 friends who don't know each other and live at opposite ends of the country. It suits both girls more than I thought when they were born.
