We are having a boy after 3 girls so I thought it fitting to call our baby Patrick after my father in law who has sadly died.

His full name will be Patrick Joseph George surname begins with M and it flows lovely together.

What do you think of the name and middle names together?

Mind you I suspect it's going to be popular soon. There were very few indeed when I named my ds.

However when I named my dd nearly 19 years ago, there were very few Graces!

So beware......

I love it - a great solid name that isn't too popular. I know a grown up Patrick who is still known as Patch and it really suits him.

It's my ds's name, so I love it!
You don't meet many little Patricks in my neck of the woods either!

I will remind people not to shorten his name if they call him Pat. Once he is old enough to decide for himself that's fine but until then I'd prefer people not to use it. I don't think that's unreasonable.

I love patch though.

Please don't do this.

I have a Patrick. He has loads of different shortenings depending on who he's with. He's usually Patrick or a baby nickname at home, but Pat, Paddy, PJ, Rick, Trick.........and I'm sure others I've forgotten at various clubs and social groups. Pat plays football and Paddy plays rugby for example!
I loved calling him Patch as a baby, but he stamped that one out as soon as he was old enough to express a preference!

The Patrick I know is Patch for short.

LOVE Patrick!! Joseph and George wouldn't be my personal choices but are nice names and go very well together.

I never even thought of Patrick when I had my ds'. Lovely!!

Very nice, OP, and Joseph is lovely too. George is fine although, again, I'm not so bothered by it.

Paddy is a nicer nn than Pat, imo.

Our little one, due in 4 weeks, will probably be Patrick if it's a boy. Lovely name and a nice combination of middle names!

No I don't like it shortened to Pat either which I've already said to DH.
Our girls all have nicknames so he'll get one too or I'll just keep reminding people not to shorten his name.

I like it. Don't like the shortening pat but like Patrick - had a v cool friend at school who was lovely with that name. Joseph nice, George not that bothered but yes in general. Haven't come across any Patricks at baby groups myself so might be time for a revival.
