Which one do you prefer and why? Also, can you see any obvious nicknames/shortening people might use?

I like in this order

Lara is the only one I like.

Sophronia · 23/08/2014 16:40

Definitely Lara.

hlc123 · 23/08/2014 16:21

Lara, closely followed by Lyra

burgatroyd · 23/08/2014 16:07

Lara. Because with all the l...a names this is the easiest, least confused one to say.

Lyra is not as established and might be confused with Lila, layla.

catsofa · 23/08/2014 16:06

Lyra. The heroine of Philip Pullman's Northern Lights books, which are awesome!

I love Lyra or how about Lila or Lyla?

Benchmark · 23/08/2014 15:49

Don't like Lyra. I think Lana is my favourite, might get nn Lani.

Phineyj · 23/08/2014 15:38

Lyra because it is an interesting character, a constellation and a musical instrument. Lara makes me think of Tomb Raider. Is Lana a real name?

curiousgeorgie · 23/08/2014 15:38

I like Lyra, it reminds me of Northern Lights.

bouncingbelle · 23/08/2014 15:36

All lovely, but I would go for Lara. Lyra is too much like Lycra and Lana spells anal backwards.

satsumasunrise · 23/08/2014 15:35

I like Lara. Lyra is too much like lycra and with Lana everyone will presume your daughter is named after Lana del Rey.
