what about Teddy. Teddy Ellis? Ellis is a family name. Not sure I can picture this through all ages though...

Its so hard!

Not really names that I would choose and not sure they really fit with Alex apart from Conrad and Jamie. The others are a little American and could sound dated in time.

Spanielpuppy · 22/08/2014 00:03

Whiteblossom Grayson as is ds middle name when I was pregnant and the name was mentioned friends/family weren't keen.

Now ds is here having been put off the name and used as a middle name instead. We get nothing but compliments on his name.

Theo Grayson

My thinking is , if friends/family/colleagues etc didn't like the name they wouldn't compliment us.

My advice is choose a name that you and your dh/dp love and go for it. By all means ask advice but go with your heart.

According to most name books Grayson is actually an old english name meaning either steward or quite simply son of gray haired man.

Happy deciding

Spanielpuppy · 21/08/2014 23:52

Love Grayson it's our ds middle name. Often wonder if it should have been his first name

MsJupiter · 21/08/2014 23:50

I think Conrad is pretty cool.

I like Archer and Roman but they do sound a bit themed with Alexander.

Hunter is also not bad. I like the short version of Nate but the long one of James.

Frikadellen · 21/08/2014 21:30

I love Conrad (ds name so may be a bit biased)

Nathanial/nate is a nice name and goes well with Alexander

I do like Greyson but not so sure it fits with Alex (if thats important)

I am not keen on the other names on your list.

HygieneFreak · 21/08/2014 21:29

Im not a lover of any of them to be honest.

If i was expecting a boy, my short list would be..

Jake
Luke
Lucas
Caden

chiruri · 21/08/2014 21:25

Wow, some people here can be really rude!

I like Nathaniel, Jamie (although maybe James with Jamie as NN), and Archer (with Archie as NN).

The rest are a little Americanised for me, and don't suit Alexander IMO.

CarriMarie · 21/08/2014 20:52

I know a baby Archer, known as Archie, he's super cute. Also like Nathaniel. What about Elias, Caleb, Cameron or Toby.

MrsBungle · 21/08/2014 18:35

I like Nathaniel and Grayson.

SoonToBeSix · 21/08/2014 18:35

I don't like any , sorry.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2014 18:33

These are not to my taste at all, sorry. I quite like Ashley but far prefer Asher. Nathaniel is okay. Hunter and Archer are bad and Greyson and Ace are both just awful imvho. Sorry.

Elijah is nice.

whiteblossom · 21/08/2014 18:27

Grin thatsnOtmyname your right they do, I got a flash image of Ace & Hunter then kinda WWA style lol.

thatsn0tmyname · 21/08/2014 18:20

Hunter and Ace sound like Gladiators, sorry. I think it helps to imagine your son aged 50, balding, going for a promotion. On his CV I think Nathaniel and Conner sound suitable for life.

Clarabum · 21/08/2014 18:04

Nathaniel is lovely.

Kantha · 21/08/2014 17:58

I think once you have gone with Alexander/ Alex it's a bit unfair on both children if the next one has something with a completely different vibe - like Connor or Greyson.

On that basis I would choose Nathaniel/Nate. I also really like Jamie, but think there are a lot more James and Jamie's about which from your OP may annoy you.

Michonne · 21/08/2014 17:31

Definitely Nathaniel/Nate. It's by far the nicest on your list and goes really well with Alexander/Alex, if that matters to you.

FreeSpirit89 · 21/08/2014 16:57

I like Riley, the others are abit other worldy. I like Alexander although it reminds me off that character from Buffy

Catsize · 21/08/2014 16:39

I like Elijah. Smile

Sophronia · 21/08/2014 16:13

Nathaniel (spelled this way with el at the end) or Conrad.

whiteblossom · 21/08/2014 15:58

lol, I spelt connor incorrectly! I admit some sound American, I am from the UK [GRIN]

Im just bored of the same old, same old for boys names. My favourite was Greyson/Grayson but only one person in rl liked it and MN hate it, so it seams...but I like because it is a bit different. I like Ethan also but was told its quite common...Ive yet to meet one though.

Nathaniel was a back up name for DS1, I agree Nate is a cool NN. I actually hate Jayden & Kayden! Riley, Ashley, Albie also...

I forgot Elijah of the list.

magicalmrmistofelees · 21/08/2014 15:48

Nathaniel (Nate) or Ethan.

TempsPerdu · 21/08/2014 15:36

Bit of a mixed bunch here! Some nice ones though - like Nathaniel (prefer this spelling), Ethan and Archer. Quite like Conrad too, but suspect plenty of others won't!

Really dislike Riley, Greyson, Conner (especially spelt like this) and Ashley.

Alexander is lovely, by the way!

Onesleeptillwembley · 21/08/2014 15:25

Wow. You've almost gone all out to gt the set there, op. you missed Jayden and Kayden though. 1/10 - and that's only for the effort of typing them out.

HerRoyalNotness · 21/08/2014 15:19

Myself I'd use:

Ethan
Nathaniel (i think this goes well with Alexander and Nate is a cool NN)
James, rather than Jamie
