How many "Poppy"s do you know?

I was just wondering, as I know it's become very popular over the past 10 years or so (I blame Jamie Oliver Smile).

So, if you've got too much time on your hands, and you don't mind sharing, tell me how many you know/have met.

Thanks!

I know two, and have come across two others (not too mention numerous cats, dogs and horses!)

One girl under two and a cat!

EauRouge · 15/08/2014 08:42

Two- a Springer and a Labrador.

Letthemtalk · 15/08/2014 08:36

Just one, black Labrador cross.

I vaccinated four Poppy's in a row in baby clinic a couple of months ago. And I've seen a couple more since.

So quite popular here on the south coast. It's the new 'Lily' and 'Ella' I think.

2 in ds3s year at school , he is in year 7. I would say about one a year throughout the school.

Skiingmaniac · 15/08/2014 08:30

I know 3 little girls between 2-7 and 2 teenagers called Poppy.

treaclesoda · 15/08/2014 08:30

I've don't know any Poppys, don't think I've ever met a Poppy.

Pandora37 · 15/08/2014 08:29

I know three - two babies and the other is about ten.

Purplehonesty · 15/08/2014 08:29

One aged 5.

Never come across one before that

marcopront · 15/08/2014 08:29

About 15 years ago I got email telling me my cousin had just had a baby called Poppy and a letter from my friend saying her brother's girlfriend had had a baby called Poppy. I knew no one else with that name, and as they both lived in the same town investigated further. Yes it was the same baby. I still know no other Poppys.

TinyTear · 15/08/2014 08:27

one born last october/november... yes, that predictable...

in my opinion it's more of a nickname than a name

NannyPeach · 15/08/2014 08:23

I know one big girl Poppy and three little girl Poppys.

ClashCityRocker · 15/08/2014 08:22

Just two - one toddler and one who I went to school with.

It's not to my taste, personally, but each to their own.

I do think kids grow into virtually any name.

SuperScrimper · 15/08/2014 08:21

Don't know any. Lovely name!

DS is 6, in his class are a poppy, rose, violet and 2 lilies.

jackandjilly · 15/08/2014 08:06

My dd is called poppy and she is 5.
There are two others in her school although one is spelled poppie. I know a poppy aged 19 too.

burgatroyd · 15/08/2014 07:51

I only know one.

MyNameIsSuz · 15/08/2014 07:33

There are lots round here (se, not London). I know two little ones but have seen more out and about at toddler groups etc.

I like it but am inclined to agree about it not really being a grown up name, but maybe that's just because there aren't many adult Poppys yet?

ThePrisonerOfAzkaban · 15/08/2014 07:28

2, ones a 35 year old doctor, the other is 18 and at uni

Ham69 · 15/08/2014 07:28

I don't know any and I know a lot of 0-8 year olds!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/08/2014 07:26

None!

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 15/08/2014 07:24
  1. All about 3 and living in different parts of the country.
AngryBeaver · 15/08/2014 07:18

Just mine, she's eight. I have always loved the name and knew if I ever had a dd that's what she'd be called.
Luckily dh loves it too and it really suits her.
Dh's parents told us they didn't like it when dh rang them to say we'd had a girl and what we'd called her.
Pair of Wankers.
