How many "Poppy"s do you know?

I was just wondering, as I know it's become very popular over the past 10 years or so (I blame Jamie Oliver Smile).

So, if you've got too much time on your hands, and you don't mind sharing, tell me how many you know/have met.

Thanks!

I know two, and have come across two others (not too mention numerous cats, dogs and horses!)

One, a nine month old - and in Glasgow weegiemum! Although it is the first Poppy I've come across up here, it's definitely not common here.

Three. One must be about 8. The others are 5 and 1.

Mutteroo · 16/08/2014 01:47

I don't know anyone named Poppy old or young.

Cocodale · 15/08/2014 22:56

One 11 yr old.

aubreye · 15/08/2014 22:25

I know of three;

One is one of DD1's closest friends and is seven.
The second is a girl I knew from my school and saw at our school reunion
The third is my cousin's daughter who is fifteen.

I love the name Annie, bouquet - haven't come across that one round our way!

1 girl, 1 dog, no cats.

I think it stands out from other flower names because of its cultural significance and also a bit more stronger than some other cute names. Flower names are classic and don't date which is why they are popular.

Not surprised it has crept up to number 7 but I think it has peaked now and I bet will drop out of top ten next year.

The most common name I have heard in the last year is Anna, or Annie.

ralinax294 · 15/08/2014 21:09

I know 3 - one aged 15, one aged 14 and one aged 3. I think it's a gorgeous name.

Cockadoodledooo · 15/08/2014 19:27

1 primary aged child, 1 18 year old girl, and four cats.

Mrsjinglejangle · 15/08/2014 16:44

Grin I've just scrolled up and down the thread, wondering what you mean Cow.

Found it - a cross post, sorry! (No wonder you were confused!)

Poppy is no 7 in the newly-released government ONS tables of baby names. with almost 3,500 babies being given that name in England and Wales. It has climbed up the Top 100 table fairly quickly, rising 6 places since last year.
