It was thrown in as a curve ball from oh the other day - something I would never have thought of! What are your thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't like it. It sounds harsh and barky. Its the female version of Rex.

I prefer more mellifluous names that are a joy to say and roll off the tongue.

Hazel Grace is the protagonist of The Fault In Our Stars*. I predict a bit of a resurgence.

*The World's Best Ever Book, according to most of my soppier teenage relations.

I'm not keen, I know a horrible Hazel in her 20s so that's put me off the name.

weatherall · 12/08/2014 13:15

Hazels a lovely name.

moggle · 12/08/2014 13:12

I love it, our friends have a 3 yr old Hazel and she is just the cutest thing in the world, so I am massively biased!

corkgirlindublin · 12/08/2014 13:12

I've got a Hazel. She's a little stunner :-)

ralinax294 · 12/08/2014 13:11

Hazel is one of my favourite names!

squoosh · 12/08/2014 13:08

Not for me.

Hazel is a Brenda kind of name to me. Your mum's friend.

burgatroyd · 12/08/2014 12:43

Love it.

Heather, Hyacinth, Hebe, willow, juniper?

Tommy · 12/08/2014 12:09

always reminds me of my Irish great aunt who, when hearing that her grand-daughter had been named Hazel, said "with all the names of the Saints in Heaven and you go and call her after a bloody nut....."

Grin sorry........
