If I like Noah, but probably not enough to actually go for it, what else might I like?

Noah's great but I'm not totally sold. Nearly ready to utterly admit defeat and give this baby the cat's name.

Any ideas?

The ones I was going to suggest have already been mentioned - Caleb, Elijah, Reuben, Nathaniel.

Leo was on our shortlist along with:
Christian
Dominic
Anthony
Joseph
Dylan
Marcus
Daniel
Ciaran
Zachary

Also like Drew, Justin, Rowan, Tobias, Jared, Owen, Alex, Joel.

And if I was a little braver - Silas, Cornelius or Linus! Smile

You lot are good at this. Love Isaiah but I'm strangely put-off because there's no obvious shortened version (I know for lots of people this would be a big plus!). Milo is great but maybe a bit rhyme-y with Leo? Love Luca too babyblabber, and my husband really likes Asa Sophronia - I think it looks lovely but our surname has a prominent 's' sound so not sure it works.

Also lovely to hear about lots of other little Leos or potential ones :) I really love my son's name and haven't ever had second thoughts, and it feels like there's a lot of pressure to get it "right" again because of this.

I have a Noah and a Leo

babyblabber · 11/08/2014 11:15

I have a Noah. Big part of the appeal for me was that it was unusual (in Ireland) at the time but has risen from 46 to 10 in the baby names list here since then :(

Expecting number 3 now and front runner is Luca but also like Leo, Teddy, Jake, Louis, Senan (Irish name) and Jasper.

Luca the only one I love as much as Noah but have to convince DH!

TightyMcTight · 11/08/2014 07:41

On my list with Noah are Theo, Lucas, Isaac and the curve ball of Cassian.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 11/08/2014 02:11

What's stopping you liking noah? Only the fact it's coming more popular?

Coughle · 11/08/2014 02:09

Isaiah? Part Isaac part Noah Smile

WaffleWiffle · 10/08/2014 23:55

I know a Noah and he has siblings called Toby and Theo (although too similar to your elder child's name probably).

RainbowB7 · 10/08/2014 23:50

We have a Rowan, was not even on the shortlist but he didn't look like Noah or any of the other names we had. Totally love it.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 10/08/2014 23:37

My first thought was Oliver.

freyaW2014 · 10/08/2014 23:34

I love roman! This is my saved list in my phone notes of potential boy names if and when #3 finally sticks lol (yes i know very sad)Shock

rootypig · 10/08/2014 23:19

Oh yes Roman! love Roman.

ProfessorBranestawm · 10/08/2014 23:18

I have an Isaac and also like Noah, but wouldn't use the latter I think.

I really like Silas, Felix, Elias and Josiah

rootypig · 10/08/2014 23:17

Ike is really sweet! An acquaintance called her firstborn Isaac Leo, actually, the names work well together.

jazzyjenbo · 10/08/2014 23:16

I have a 4 yr old noah and love his name but it has gone popular now, we didnt know any when he was born but know loads now. His middle name is joseph so u and dh seem to like our choices. How about
Isaac
Jonah
Jonas
Samuel
Kit (means christian)
Jacob
Jude
Zachary
Rowen
Ivor
Theo
Roman
Oliver

WhatTheHellDoWeCallThisBaby · 10/08/2014 23:16

Isaac is probably my favourite. I keep mentioning it to husband and he's a bit meh about it. I hate Zach but think Ike is massively cute as a nn

cross post!

rootypig · 10/08/2014 23:14

Nathaniel
Caleb
Reuben

WhatTheHellDoWeCallThisBaby · 10/08/2014 23:14

I must be so predictable! I like Caleb (nn Cal) but again husband not keen. Ethan's lovely but my usually normal MIL made a totally random comment a couple of weeks about what a terrible name it is (we haven't discussed any name ideas with her or anyone else, it really was random), which took the shine off slightly...
