Annabel Florence
Isabella Florence
Olivia Florence

(Or, poss Beatrice instead for the MN). Concerns are:-

Isabella - is it a bit too long, flowery and "try-hard";
Olivia - is it too similar to Sophia and therefore a bit of a twee sib-set?
Annabel - doesn't have the same gravitas as the other traditional names? i.e could you imagine a High Court Judge called Annabel?

I suppose what I want is a name that would not look out of place amongst the Telegraph birth announcements haha!

Thanks in advance for opinions.

Annabel Florence definitely. I can very much imagine a high court judge called Annabel. I think it's still quite classic but unusual and pretty.

I thought Grace too!

I'd go for Annabel as I like Anna and Annie as well as Bella

This is an easy one as my daughter is Annabelle Beatrice and I think it's lovely!! I think it's a name that gives you good nn potential - Anna/Belle. Beatrice is a family name on both sides and I love it. All of your other names (including your dd1's names were on our list so we must have very similar taste. I absolutely think the name stands up to the high court judge test. Good luck with whatever you decide. I love all of your other combinations by the way- I'm just biased! X

It's the Florence that's the problem.
Any of your suggestions woudl be lovely with something classic and simple like Jane, for example.

ClariceBeanthatsme · 25/07/2014 14:05

Violet? I love all your names, I have one from your list.

Isabella, Florence and Annabel are all long names so what about putting one with a shorter middle name like Iris, Ivy, Pearl, Fleur, Flora...

Franglais80 · 25/07/2014 13:55

Yes I see your point about Isabella (though I only know of one but I know LOADS of Isabels/Isabelles around here!) Annabel is DH's fave by a long way and we would prob nn her Bells/Bel/Anna. I don't like Florence enough to be her first name and I know one at playgroup which puts me off!

Olivia Florence, because Isabella is so very popular just now, and Annabel though pretty also has all the same possible Bel Bella etc type of nn.

Have you thought of using Florence as the first name?

BreeVDKamp · 25/07/2014 13:37

Think Isabella is way too popular. Olivia is a bit obvious as a sister to Sophia IYSWIM. I'd go Annabel, think it's the least faddy and I can imagine a judge called Annabel for sure!! And also a fashion designer, admin lady, teacher etc...
