Wasn't it originally a nickname for Victoria (who was queen at the time)? If so it could be a nickname for Elizabeth, that way she has other options if she doesn't like it when she grows up.

I ADORE it, and although I'm 99.999999999999% sure I won't be having any more DCs, I'm 100% sure she would be called Queenie if she were a girl. I know many people will not like it but she will grow into her name and what a name! Love love love Grin

p.s. In a bizarre coincidence, I was just thinking about this name, seconds before I saw your post!

I know a Queenie, she is about 4 years old and the name really suits her.

Her mum is gorgeous and has that Rockabilly, Amy Winehouse type vibe.

Love it! The Queenie I know is 103. I think it's much nicer than other old ladies names such as Edith, Ivy, Ruby etc.

I LOVE it! DP said no. There's a famous Chinese celebrity with that name and I know a thirty year old woman. I think is playful and sweet and really don't get why people dislike it! Its esp great because of Black adder.
