Which name?!

I feel like I should have a strong favourite but I just don't! All my names also have quite different vibes really. Which do you like best and do any of them have positive or negative meanings for you? 6 favourites- Heidi, Matilda, Xanthe, Annabelle, Imogen and Violet. I also like Thea, Lola, Gabriella and Indigo but I think these have been ruled out. Please help!

I would have guessed at Tay-a for pronunciation if I saw the name written down. I would be totally lost on how to pronounce Xanthe though.

Of your favourites I think Imogen is the prettiest name, then Heidi. I find Annabelle a bit prissy, Matilda a bit stolid, Violet I just can't make up my mind which way it goes. Being fussy there though, quite like all your names. Of the others I do like Indigo, shortened to Indie. That is just based on Home and Away - Indigo Walker, I wouldn't have liked it before!

Thea (theee-a) or violet

PeanutPatty · 26/07/2014 21:45

Xanthe makes me think of cold sores.

TodaysNotAGoodDay · 26/07/2014 19:11

Thea or Gabrielle

Delphiniumsblue · 26/07/2014 19:00

Annabelle

picnicbasketcase · 26/07/2014 18:47

Thea, Heidi and Violet are my favourites. I always think Xanthe looks like a pharmaceutical product.

newyearnewshoes · 26/07/2014 18:43

Annabelle or Imogen

Stretchmarksarethenewblack · 19/07/2014 16:07

Love Heidi, violet was on my list until it was pointed out how similar it is to violent.. Stupid but it stuck in my head! All the best op xx

Superrhan · 19/07/2014 15:51

A vote for Thea said Thay-a (although I guess that would be best spelt Théa, but that does look pretentious).

I think it's beautiful!

Gingerjv · 17/07/2014 19:42

Annabelle, Imogen and Violet are wonderful! Love these names! Matilda - and i imagine some old granny. Thea and Gabriella are also nice. And others names i do not like at all!!

Howaboutthisone · 17/07/2014 18:58

I think I prefer your rejected list sorry!
Thea is beautiful.
Lola pretty.
Gabriella reminds me of the one girl I taught with that name who was lovely.
I think they're all pretty names but somehow in a girly but strong way that I can't really explain!
I do like Violet too!

escorpion · 17/07/2014 18:44

I love Thea!! My nephew is Theo (pronounced Tayo) dutch pronouncing. So I think Taya would be lovely :)

hollyisalovelyname · 17/07/2014 18:37

I love Heidi.

BellMcEnd · 17/07/2014 18:34

Violet or Xanthe. Lovely names!

Rivercam · 17/07/2014 18:34

Didn't like Xanthe or Matilda. Love Heidi and Violet

From rejected list, don't like Indigo.

I would pronounce Thea as Thee - a.

Cpt1sock · 17/07/2014 18:31

Xanthe or violet are my favourites from your list.

pinkgirlythoughts · 17/07/2014 18:30

DS (3) would have been Annabelle or Imogen if he'd been a girl, and Annabelle Xanthe was one of our combos! I also like Violet a lot.

serialgrannie · 17/07/2014 18:17

Annabelle. Definitely. Classy and timeless.

Rhubarbgarden · 17/07/2014 18:16

I love Violet and Thea (Thee-a).

florascotia · 17/07/2014 18:10

Very pleased to help OP. Of your names - all nice - I like Violet best. Violets are such fantastic flowers. If I may say so, I like Violetta/Violeta even better.

overmydeadbody · 17/07/2014 17:40

Xanthe. Best name ever.
