I know some of you may turn your nose up at these, but just for the record I have never and will never like classic names such as Elizabeth, Catherine, Clementine, Edward or William.

Just curious as to your suggestions.

Clementine isn't a classic name but it's one of those names. Beloved of the full name on the birth certificate types.

I'm not actually pregnant but am considering having a final baby. I love the naming part.

Sidney is an old boys name and I prefer it to Sydney which makes me think of Australia.

I like Sidney as a girl's name. I see Willow, that I was thinking wasn't that popular is popping up everywhere.

I know several Ambers so couldn't personally use it but it is gorgeous.

Then just use the part of the name you actually will use. That's what we did. Didn't see the point in registering the 'Whole' version of the name when we (and everyone else) would only ever use the shortened version, so we just used the diminutive. It works perfectly with DS although I see it wouldn't be for every name.

I have never done the full name on the birth certificate. All my DCs except my DD are named one of the above and I've always gone with what I want to use. I was just saying those classic name lovers and people who are into full names on the BC are usually fans of Clementine.

I do like Dallas btw but as a girls name. I have a special place in my heart for the name Cherish but I don't think I'd actually use it.

Fair enuff Grin .. I see what you mean, and actually I agree but I don't think Clementine is a name you could register the nn/diminutive of without it sounding silly (IMO).

Registering a child as 'Clemmie/Clem' is a bit odd. Although I know a couple of Clementines who are nn Tiny which I suppose you could use on a BC.

Nooooo not that Clementine would be registered as a short form but it's popular with the same sort of people. Those who suggest things like Elizabeth, Charlotte, Phillippa, William and Henry. The classic traditionalists.

I don't think I could ever use Hyacinth regardless of gender, it's a bit to Bucket.
