Ok so previously I had posted on Sorrel Bea as a little girls name and had some really useful feedback. Since then my husband has said he isn't keen.

He likes Alba Rose- any thoughts?

I also like Thistle

I love that. Thistlerose! Thanks for your feed back. It doesn't make me think of electrical goods which is good!

I know Rose has annoyingly become the middle name of the year!

I prefer Alberta Rose, with Alba as a nickname.

I like Alba Rose I think it's really pretty.

curiousgeorgie · 13/07/2014 12:35

Sorrel is lovely...

Alba just makes me think Jessica Alba.

OwlCapone · 13/07/2014 12:29

Alba sounds and looks really ugly to me.

Anyway, no, no, NO to Thistle. It's a bit spikey

As is Holly. :)

It's nice.

I really like both Alba and rose. It doesn't remind me of cheap electrical goods - just Time Traveller's Wife, the Scots word for Scotland, and Latin for 'white'.

Rose is a very popular middle name now but I don't suppose it matters much.

A child in one of the Brother Cadfael books is called Rosalba, which I think sounds nicer.

I also know a girl called Thistlerose (though she now calls herself just Thistle) I really like it, though maybe that's because the girl herself is lovely.

Sorry Really not keen on Alba. Same as make of stereos etc.

Needhelppls · 13/07/2014 11:58

I like Rose not keen on Alba just not my kind of name but not horrible just no where near as nice as Rose

squoosh · 13/07/2014 11:53

Alba and Thistle, quite the Scottish theme there.

Anyway, no, no, NO to Thistle. It's a bit spikey. Alba reminds me of cheap electrical goods.

Sorrel is so much better than both of these other two options.
