Alba Rose - girls name- your thoughts

Ok so previously I had posted on Sorrel Bea as a little girls name and had some really useful feedback. Since then my husband has said he isn't keen.

He likes Alba Rose- any thoughts?

I think Alba is ok. It doesn't make me think electrics, it makes me think 'Scotland'.

I think thistle is an odd name personally.

I like sorrell. Lovely sound.

Audrey is nice. And a girls name. Aubrey is definitely a boys name. Except in America where all names are girls names.

I really like Alba but think Rose as a middle name is a bit of a 'filler' name, unimaginative. Unless it has a family connection which gives it meaning, it's dull.

I prefer Alma

Alba Rose kinda means 'white pink' which seems odd

Alba means 'dawn' in Italian. I think it's a nice name.

Alba Rose means white rose doesn't it? Great if you are from Yorkshire.

I like Alba. Never heard of the jewellery store, so that probably wouldn't put me off (especially if it's in a particular area, and not where I live!)
Thistle - I don't think is a nice name. It's a charmless plant, so not a name for a person I think.
Is it plant names in particular you're going for, or names with a certain type of sound?
Alberta is nice.

Alba just isn't pretty, and makes me think of the jewellery shop. Thistle is dreadful, sorry.

I did see that it is a jewellery shop when I googled it. But I don't really care about that.

Rose is just so pretty it's a shame it's now so over used but I do love it as a middle name.

I like Alberta - she could be Alba or Bertie for short.

Thank you for the other suggestions. I love Thisbe but OH won't have it.

She is due really soon and I am still none the wiser for a name. I thought 9 months would be long enough to decide!

How about Thisbe? Genuine name and has the thistle sound.
I like Alberta.
Other names you might like... Hyacinth, Wisteria (wish nn) Vera?

Alba Rose is the name of a jewellery store.
They are lovely names but I wouldn't name a son Mark Spencer for the same reason!

Alba I don't like, really. Lots of people will associate with the electrical company or with Jessica Alba. Alba Rose together is pretty twee. And alone, it just isn't a very attractive word. And Rose as a middle name is so popular that it has lost all meaning, lovely though it is.

I like Alba, didn't think of electrical goods until someone pointed it out. Not keen on thistle. Rose is a lovely middle name, goes perfectly with either.
