DSis has just found out she's expecting a girl and is stuck between Elise and Amber. Thoughts?

Amber sounds like a dog's name to me, I really, really dislike it for a child. Elise is much nicer.

I'd discount Elise because there are so many e names like Elle/a/ie s around atm.

Amber is a great name.
Solid.
Easy to spell.
Not obscure but uncommon.

Amber. V pretty. Elise was the mom in Michael j Fox tv show Family Ties so can't shake the connection. A bit too Teutonic for my liking as well.

To my eternal shame I am a closet teen mom fan and thus it must be Elise, please not amber. She is awful (though I realise she isn't well) and it's all I can think of now when I hear the name.
